Hello everybody,
after some months of reading and studies about making money online, I'm really motivated on trying this way to live.
To start i think that an Amazon/Ebay affiliate niche site is the most suitable for me. At the moment I found two/three interesting niches. I don't know how much are these profitable but these are not so much competitive and I think I can use this experience to do some practice and to begin understanding how the things work.
The path I will follow is the following:

  • build one personal blog where I talk about my IM experience;
  • build one/two small niche sites;
  • obtain traffic on these sites (I think in these cases the best is organic traffic, not so difficult because of low competition of the selected niches);
I know that it could take some time for a newbie.

Only when the traffic goals are reached, I'll put Amazon and/or ebay links and I'll start to analyze to obtain clicks on my pages.

If I'll be able to do some moneys in this way I'll try to grow up myself and my business.

What do you think about this approach?

Prior to start I have to solve some doubts.
I would like to use less money as possible, I do not want to outsurce anything at the moment. I'll spend money just for domains registration and for hosting, may be for wordpress themes.
Can this be done in your opinion? Or are required more money to start?

About wordpress themes:

  • what's wrong about using free wordpress themes, if these themes have the necessary features to do a basic niche site?
  • I found some premium themes downloadable for free... Is this a safety practice or in this case is better to double check the downloaded theme to find some hoacks/backdoors or other things like these?

About hosting: I readed so much about wordpress hosting. More I read, more I'm confused. I don't want to trash money on the wrong hosting. I'm an it professional and I can host my web sites on Amazon AWS by myself, but this requires time and I prefer to dedicate my time in the focus of this business. Which hosting is good in order to:
publish more than one web sites? I prefer to avoid virtualhost configuration, so each site should have a different wordpress installation.

  • For each domain I need two or three mailboxes.
  • I don't need big space
  • I need to backup my sites on my local computer.

If I wrong the forum section, pls let me know

Regards
Giova

Wow nice journey. I hope you can make something out of it :)

Adrian 112,
Are you sarcastic? If you think that this is a nonsense way to proceed let me know. I'll appreciate it.

Good luck with your site... I am is same stage I am using free theme too but it doesnt look good as much as premium I bought the the domain from separate registrar and hosting from hostgator but it is not working good so I will be shifting and installed ...it total cost me less then 50 bucks actually to get the site live..

My best wishes for your journey. Keep us informed please. It's interesting.

The journey seems plausible for a small scale as far as I can understand. About your doubt, that much money spent is just fine to earn let's say, $100-$500/month (500 if you do EVERYTHING right so don't take my word for it). When you want to scale it up, you do need to invest more. You might need to outsource things like content and SEO because your time is better spent elsewhere. These guys that you hire would be professionals who would do it 20 times quicker than you, would not make any errors and save you lots of brain power and time.

Hi, have you finished with all your to do list? Is there any result?
