I'm Going To Do IM [FULL-TIME] Am I Crazy?

Before you commit to doing Internet Marketing full-time, you should have a consistent income coming from your ventures. Even then, I wouldn't rule out jobs; there's nothing wrong with a job; internships can give you valuable insight and experience in your respective field. Even though I've been blessed enough to pull down a good figure online, I still go to college.

Right now I'm working as internet marketer (Part-Time) but I don't like to work even if is my field. My dream is to be free in this world, simple as that. :o

+1

Most sit in front of a cpu 18 hours a day, no sical skills, and have girlfriends who cheat on them because they dont spend time with them

In my opinion, IM is going to be dead in next few years.

IM to me is a ho0bby, entertainment, fun and never to be taken seriusly.

Get a degree kjeep a good job and do IM on the side and once you saved uo like 80-100k from Im , invest that into something offline like a burger king restaurant or something

It aint cool sitting in front of a cpu when its 80 degrees out and girls running around in skirts and your in front of cpu frustrated because somebody stole your campaign.

I know only work 3-4 hours a day m-fri, sometimes saturday if Im bored.

I make a fulltime FULLTIME income plus I have tons of money saved

When I first started this I still then only devoted about 6 hours or so a day to IM, hell sometimes I wouldnt work for 3 days

But yea mayne get your degree and do IM parttime.

I would have to respectfully disagree with you; I believe Internet Marketing is a legitimate career choice.

If you treat it as a hobby, it will become just that - a hobby. If you treat your online ventures as a real business - it will become just that; by treating it as a real business, I mean have enough discipline to work on your business, invest, outsource, and constantly innovate. Not many people can do this consistently, which is why the majority are not successful in Internet Marketing.

Keep in mind that Internet Marketing is not just doing your own "freelance" thing online, promoting affiliate offers, etc. Now, more than ever, companies are looking to hire Internet Marketers that can establish their brand online, increase their sales, optimize their marketing campaigns, etc. You get the point - the skills you learn as an Internet Marketer are very relevant in today's business environment.

If you're just going to do Internet Marketing with the end-goal of owning an offline firm, then don't waste your time in IM; your time would be better spent picking up a second job and saving the money that you make from that. Internet Marketing has a large learning curve, so chances are, you aren't going to be making money when you first start out.

Last, but not least, always remember the fundamental rule. If you're not having fun, you're mental!

Just get a part time job. Being broke sucks. You need some money to invest in IM anyway. Always have some kind of cash flow.

I don't know. You are playing with your future here. If you don't like to work in your field than maybe you shouldn't pursue that field since you are not passionate about it.

A man who is passionate about his work, loves his work and does not complain about how much he hates his job online. If he does not put his sexuality into his work than this leads to problems for himself.

Here is what I did, my own personal example is playing Minecraft for a few weeks. I was so happy that I was building my own little civillization. It made something tingle inside of me that I thought wasn't still there even if I was not earning anything from doing it. I was pretending and using my imagination for my own personal benefit and I really wanted to share this "world" with other people. This would lead to profit.

So at the same time I was doing this world building, I wrote stories that were themed to the world I had put together. The game helped me visualize what I wanted to become real on paper. I had entire adventures in my head. Maybe someday I will sell it in bits and pieces to the public.

Another example I read online once, is of a man who quit his career to fish. This guy loved to fish so much he quit his career to just do that, fish. His wife didn't appreciate his rekindled passion for fishing and wanted to leave him.

But I can see where you are coming from. It is obvious that not everyone wants to be in school and you would rather be somewhere else besides that classroom.

Ask yourself, what do you want to do for the rest of your life from this day forward.

Do you want to play with money all day as a banker?

Do you love firing weapons all day long?

Do you like the feeling of flying high in the sky?

It goes deeper than that.

I personally sit here and pretend that I am a Morlock from H.G. Wells, The Time Machine.

I sit in front of a computer ringing what is basically a digital bell that makes the Eloi (or whatever you want to call your customers) come to me. The Eloi come and some of them fall into my traps (digital sales pages)

If IM was to dry up for all eternity, I better hope to come up with something as mudane as soap on a rope or socks that smell like rotting fish. Because you know at the end of the day, it's all about convincing someone why it's a good idea for them to give you their money.

You don't decide to do something full time if your not making any money from it haahaha.

"full time" means you can you live on it. Just because it fills up most of your time doesnt make it "full time" lol.

How much are you making with IM now? Enough to live on?

stay in school get a career going. If you get good enough to live on your IM earnings you can then decide to go "full time" if you want ;)

Hey Sombrero, How's IM going? or Did youn eventually enrol at the uni?

Education is more than just learning. It also molds your character, these types of disciplines that you will need not only as IMer but as a whole person, as well. Whichever you decide, just remember that there are no shortcuts to life. Overnight success takes 10 years of hard work really! :bed3:
