    Hi guys,

I'm going China Shenzhen Soon in about a months time and I'm looking to buy a few things which I want to sell when I get back to the UK, mainly in the computing and cosmetics area.

What are the best places for bargains?

    What is Shenzhen like?

I'd be great full if you could share your experience :).

    Thanks

Shenzhen is the biggest electronics market in China. You can find electronics with cheap prices at huaqiangbei,RD. For clothes, you can go to dongmen.

You guys in the UK are lucky to be so close to China, its 23 hours AND $1200 USD flight from the USA.

I'd love to know what city/region has the best quality replica nikes, tired of the same average quality and high price from alibaba's MANY middlemen.

Best advice is to go straight to HK and ask the locals for their black market!

One more thing, you should get your Chinese friend to help you around! If you're a white guy walking around like you have no clue, you aint gonna find the right people!

We're closer to China than you are, but it's still pretty far away!

"Around the world in 80 trades" show comes into mind. It's about a guy like you, he is from UK. In one show, he went to china and done some trades, also got some profit by sold the south african wine to Chinese distributor.

When I last checked their weren't any replies to this thread lol. But thanks guys for replying and for the help.

Funny enough I arrived yesterday to Hong Kong were we drove to China Shenzhen, took ages at the border crossing got their in the end though.

Today has been our first official day and stupidly enough I didn't take any money out for China in the previous country I was on holiday in, everywhere I went had no money :(, ATM wasn't accepting my cards but finally one worked and took out 1000 CNY, going to China Bank to take out rest tomorrow.

But anyways I was in the Dongmen area today and bought Handbags, belts and some memory cards. Chinese people really stare at the foreigners lol, the smell is the worst thing about Shenzhen, nearly felt sick today. I was quite happy with Mcdonalds today too!! Only £1.50 for a meal...Happy Days!!

Hopefully will be going to Luohu Commercial City and other side streets for some good bargains.

Shenzhen is good for business but not recommended for the light hearted or people who are looking to take their family on a relaxing holiday....Go Dubai instead for that ;-).
Haggling is the key success for a bargain.

A Belt I bought start from (160 CNY), the guy went down to 100 CNY when I told him the price is a joke and that I just bought a belt from elsewhere for 20 CNY (Lies lol). Then go to 50 CNY and started walking away and got to 20 CNY!! I Saved 140 CNY!!

Hope my experience helps the new travellers :)

I travel to Guangzhou China twice a year. I pay for my entire trip with replica products I buy there (including the suitcase to bring them home).

I now purchase from the same places each time, so the price and service has got better. In my experience the items which I have had the easiest time making a profit on (which is the point) are True Religion blue jeans, Bench brand jackets, and Lu Lu lemon brand jackets. You can buy these items in quantity for under USD$20 each, bring 50kilos of them home in your suitcase, and resell them within a couple days for USD$50 each just to friends and family. The quality on them is decent and nobody complains because the price is so cheap. Other items such as watches and sunglasses also work.

Now i wouldnt recommend trying to build a business on replica products, but it certainly will put an extra thousand bucks in your pocket anytime you need it.

Also if your dealing direct with anyone in China you will have the fear of sending money and getting scammed, as happens to every noob at buying chinese goods online. I had that same fear until I met my sources face to face a few times.

I will be back in Guang Zhou (where every replica product in the world is made and wholesaled) in April if you or anyone else happens to be there and wants to go out on the town and show the Chinese how to drink whiskey.
