IM career over

man i can't say a whole lot about IM because i'm just starting out but if you can make enough for some room and board, make ONLY enough for this, and try and enjoy college! college was some of the best times of my life, i wouldn't trade it for anything although i feel i'll never bother to use my degree. just remember you can make money for the rest of your life, your only young once. goodluck.

get some CPA offers and hand em out at clubs/parties lol [;

If you're going to college in business/marketing or another study where there are actual jobs, then I would stay in college.

If you're going to get a liberal arts degree, or an English degree (in US) then you might as well drop out while you're ahead. These jobs are few and far inbetween.

I'm actually a big promoter for college, I think it's very, VERY important. But if you're going to get a bogus degree then expect a bogus job.


PS: I go to college full-time, actually 18 credits, which is 1.5x full time. I still own a very successfull online operation. I guess I'm going for business so my business learning compliments the business experience.


I also think the first 2 years of college are worthless/pointless. Our education system is broke, too. But that's a different topic for a different day! :)

Yes!

Grade inflation has resulted in degree inflation. Do not think the job your brother got 5 years ago with that degree is what you're going to get.

The world is changing- higher education is a bubble. In just a few decades we've gone from just a few people getting college degrees to parents expecting that any of their kids who doesn't drool all day will get a B.A.

If you are the type of person who makes friends easily, college can make you a lot of connections.

If you don't, get some knowledge that is useful. But it's absolutely true, the first two years are designed to suck the money out of the unserious ones. Years three and four are designed to prepare the serious ones for graduate work- the only place real learning happens anymore.

It's all a scam- use it to your advantage, but to do that you have to have your EYES OPEN.
 
Dong get me wrong i love college . I only like the social part and parties and social connections you make anythin else such as a degree never fully agreed.
 
going to college for study is not a good investment for me. How much you have to spend for finishing a course? After that how much you earn from what you learn in college? but first, what is the point you been to college? To get a good grade and look for a good job? I dont think you will like it. If good at IM why not focus on it, college you can always get network with people, properly can make lots of friend and chicks there.
