I'm bummed. Amazon has me Stumped.

Seeking feedback on the Amazon Associates program, as I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong.

I have a 10 month old blog in the outdoors niche. It appears that I'm just getting out of the sandbox, as I have more than a few keywords that are within the top 5 & 10 in the serps...even a few that are #1...plus variations of my main keywords.

Traffic last month was about 1,300 visitors, which was a 100% increase over the prior month.

That's all of the good. Now for the bad...

I became an Amazon associate 3 months ago and have yet to make 1 sale. My articles are VERY well written and long...all 2,000+ words & SEO optmized. Admittedly...

Many of the posts are top of the funnel and answer specific questions related to outdoor activities, which tend to have a high commercial intent.

While I don't expect to be making 50 sales per month or thousands of dollars, I can't see how a single sale hasn't happened in 90 days. For example...

Going on the lower end of my site's traffic, let's say I'm getting 800 visitors per month. Just 0.5 percent of that traffic - which is 4 visitors - should make a purchase. I think this is a reasonable assumption. But I've got bupkiss so far.

Now I'm stressed because if I don't make 3 sales in 90 days, I'm out of the program and will have to remove tens of pages of links and restructure the posts.

Does anyone have any tips with Amazon Associates or some suggestions you can offer? I would greatly appreciate it

As a recommendation for you, I suggest going to other affiliate programs than Amazon.
There is a lot in the outdoor niche, you can get better commission than Amazon + people on this specific vertical will be ready to buy from sites of well-known brands on this vertical(REI, BACKCOUNTRY for example).

Are you tracking clicks through the Amazon dashboard?

I just checked an old site of mine and I got 33 conversions from 550 clicks this month for reference.

If you get kicked out of the program, you can always reapply.

Thanks, Elad. That's a great suggestion, but if my traffic isn't converting anyway I'm not sure switching to another seller would matter much.

Just wondering if I'm doing something wrong, my traffic levels are still too low for monetization to kick in, or perhaps people have become immune/turned off whenever they see an Amazon link.
