I'm at a slump in my life.

Most computers can handle still graphics nowadays, I just get something and work up. Then go to business owners and practice internet marketing for them for free and take dividends when you make them money.

Your situations creates depth in life and if you want to create meaning you need to start making decision and stop over thinking.

But if I were you I would borrow others success at the beginning such as modifying wordpress websites that are already design and charging $300 and take dividends or put my affilate links on the site as apart of the agreement for the cheap web design price. At first I was just charing $300 a site to build a side stream of income. 2 sites a month would give you a $10/hour full time income.

If you can't get good at using the resources you have, then I doubt you will advance even with better gear. The master skills come from using little to make a lot. This is why the martial arts master can kill you with a spoon while you may have the latest knife.

#team paragraphs

Thank you for all the well thought out replies, I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate the advice.
Sorry about the paragraph issue, I was posting from a mobile phone as I still don't have a computer. I understand the points about not needing to spend 1,000 dollars on a computer, but my issue is that I have to purchase a monitor and an Operating System. I probably wouldn't have to spend as much had I have chosen to buy a Dell, or HP but,
I've always enjoyed building computers and I just thought it would be a neat thing for me to do, hopefully occupying some of my time. My thought's on building:
I've always heard it was cheaper and more efficient to build my own computer, and if I do decide to build, wouldn't the computer I get from building be a lot more "future proofed" than buying just a stock Dell, or any other computer manufacturer's pre-built machine? I feel as if I bought a pre-built computer from one of the major companies
that it wouldn't last me as long as one that I have home-built.

It would be a lot more cost-efficient to just buy one pre-built, but wheres the fun in that? I will take you guy's advice and keep my day-job as, well... That's currently my only source of income. Once I decide on a computer, (Whether I build it or buy it) I will be a lot more active on these forums and hopefully will be able to get something up and going for myself. I have a bad habit with procrastination, and I need to kick that bad habit to the curb before I become any sort of success. But I've been reading around on here and studying in the mean time. So, hopefully by the time I'm ready to set all this in motion, I'll at least have a little bit of knowledge and be able to start somewhere instead of just sitting here dumb founded.

Thanks again for all the help, I really hope to get out of this slump soon.

Hey OP Buddy :)

You opened up in a slump OK that happens to us all at some time or another

But what I do not get is that you make post #22 and you are still in a slump

Guess what to get away from your negativity I am out of here...

Best you get out of this thread too - and do something about your mindset!

Go on amazon or newegg and just buy a basic laptop for 300 bucks, like everyone else said, if your on a tight budget and want to make more money forget building a computer, you are not getting paid to do that. Save your time, create some businesses, and then later on build that computer of your dreams when your in a better place.

White people problems.

Problem: needs computer for business (got to spend money to make money he says).
Cost of computer to do job well: $300-400 MAX.
He wants to spend: $1,300.
Why would you ever need such a powerful computer? Intense graphics and GAMES.

Mmmm hmmm. Yeah, I'm being a bit of an arsehole right now.

Maybe not an arsehole but I don't see what "White people problems." has to do with this.

i was in the same position as you, and still suffering from the effects - but still keep telling myself the same 3 words

JUST DO IT

I would start working out. Doing some push ups and running if you dont have a gym membership. Buy the computer and use your extra time building an extra income. Just realize that in life you can work on building someone elses business or you can build your own. I dont know which you would rather do but 9 out of 10 people i know would rather build something that will benefit themselves.

2nd of all dont give up. When you lose the motivation that keeps you driven hop on a blog and read about success, look up motivational videos on youtube or listen to a internet marketing podcast.

Since in the meantime you do not have a computer start writing down your ideas and goals to keep you on track. Every day you should try to accomplish at least 2-3 goals on your list and then write new some new goals down. By putting yourself in the mindset to accomplish a few goals a day you will be training yourself to put more things into action instead of just thinking about what you can do.

Last of all here is a good motivational video that I watch to stay motivated when I feel like giving up.

How am I supposed to get out of a slump in the matter of a day? Makes absolutely no sense. I didn't ask you to post in the first place. I appreciate everyone who did help though. I don't see the point of bashing on me, I just posted what was on my mind. Thank you.

I will definitely give your advice a try! I've already started writing down some goals, and that has seemed to work in the past. I just need to stick with things, I tend to give up when the going gets tough.

So what you're saying is since you sold your computer, you haven't jerked off? Could be the reason for the depression. :)

Spend $500 on a perfectly good laptop and use the rest as backup for your IM business.

Also consider going to a doctor if your depression gets worse. Sometimes it's really medical as well as situation based.
