So I been bitching at my boss to give me a raise, im providing all the leads for a motorcycle dealership I work for. Im making fucking ten bucks an hour. I got offered the job when I was going from each dealer making 30 second videos for each one of their units for sale, I would hire a model, get wireless mics, edit, then upload to youtube do all the youtube crap, then embed to the dealers site, and then paste link into cycle trader. Charging $25.00 per video. Ten video minumum, I ran out of work because the dealers would run out of bikes, once I got caught up on the initial orders. So I was running around looking for work, oh yea forgot to mention I was going to all the dealers without transportation, so actually haha just remembered the first dealer I went to I took my PC tower on the bus with me, and set up at a desk at the dealership, I would pay people for rides, and take the train. So much freaking work.

Well now. Im a kickass employee for the dealership. I wash the bikes, load all the bikes with the forklift, maintain the website with new inventory, run the ebay store with old bike parts, manage our facebook page. Used 7878's method to work on our yelp page. Learned how to do some reputation management and cleared some stuff off Google.

Im still struggling really bad. But I finally had this discussion with my boss. Told him that I think he is on drugs because of his mood swings. Telling him if him and the owner dont think I am a valued enough employee to give me a raise after two years of working there. Then this is just a job, and im leaving as soon as I find something better. LIke they dont respect loyalty anymore.

Well i guess thats what it took for him to get it through his head, because he was kiss ass, telling me how much he appreciates me, knowing that I need more money.. blah blah blah.

So since we are a dealer for motorycles, we are also a dealer for motorcycle parts. I found a catalog that does dropshipping called tucker rocky. Then I found the Go Pro Hero3.

I listed the item at $340.00 after doing some research coming to find the have been selling for 360.00 and retail for $399.00

I did this on Friday, and opened up ebay today. There were 8 go pros sold. Then it was weird I refreshed the page and another one just sold.

I was just thinking wholly crap the reason why we arent posting any parts online is because the parts manager is old school doesnt know jack about computers. ANNNND if someone else sells parts online it cuts away from his commission.

I just realized I can build a whole entire online parts department. And get parts at dealer cost and upsell them, not locally like we are doing but Nationally and WORLDWIDE!!

So what now. I tell my boss I want to do this and make a stupid 10% cut plus base pay ! Guess so for now.

ANyways just wanted to let you guys know Gopros are a hot item.

Brilliant luck hitting the gold-pot! I guess that's how you get those winner ideas once you're through with taking all those punches. It's the time when you scream: "ENOUGH!!! It's either ALL or NOTHING for me NOW!"

Now use the way to make it work more. You have found your niche now. Don't reveal it 100% to the stupid manager or the owner. Go solo as a eBay merchant in that niche in your spare time if you can.

oh yea I forgot to mention a few things.

Before when I was making videos I never knew how to rank videos.

But now I have a really good understanding of it.

Im banking like 100 every month in adsense, because back like two years ago I was all stoked when youtube offered me monetization.

I was just thinking about the other 6 dealers I did this for, probably dont even know theres a fat check in there adsense account.

If they do, too bad, no contract signed its there money now....

Just if youre in a shitty situation just stand up for yourself. Be ballsy, its looking like employers like the guys that will stand up for themselves. It kind of make sense, if there is no one else above them giving them shit. Then they really dont know if they are running a business like a crack head, and how there employees feel about working for them. Until they get a loyal motherfucker like me pissed off enough to snap at them.

jesus to all you managers and business owners HAVE MEETINGS. Im a disgruntled employee and ive been talking alot of shit. Dont have disgruntled employees. Because they will conspire against you.
 
Make sure you get all that shit in a written contract. You set up all the infrastructure, get things going, fix the problems, put out the fires, learn all the lessons, etc... and then some asshole looks at your 10% and thinks you are fucking them, and starts planning on how to get rid of you, and replace you with a guy that makes....

Total was $60 bucks.

Even sicker is that the company does dropship! So I just made the dealer about $600 bucks in under 48 hours. I just paid for a week and half of my time!

Listen, you sound like you've got the courage,determination, and insight (when you tap into it...) to not only "strike a deal" with your boss, but much more than that, I think you would absoulutely BE an idiot if you didn't leverage what you know and are learning to branch out and eventually do your own thing, like sooner than later too.

Defintely take the advice of others who posted and get things in writing. I would take it a step further and in my left hand , i'd pursue your idea with your boss. In my right hand I'd be ploting to score out on my own (via ebay and all other online outlets I could...) Furthermore go secure yourself a domain that's relevant to your idea. :-)

Thankyou guys for the motivation i been neck deep in bills for the last 3 months. Only seeing about $50.00 of my total paycheck.

Great to hear about your discovery. Try set up your own drop shipping business once you have the capital. Also, the more you persist with getting a raise and hinting at leaving, you'll eventually get the raise if your boss truly doesn't want you to leave.

Thanks thats a great idea, Im going to figure out how to get the licenses. I just thought of something also. Might already have a dropship set up going on. One person ordered 6 off me and another asked for pricing on 100's. I think my price is low enough that other people can make money off my price.... Who would have thought....

Your determination to succeed is impressive.

Repped just for taking your tower on the bus, that's a good example of doing whatever needs to be done!

You are in a great position with your employer now, you just need to discuss and negotiate with him in the right way. $600 extra profit in 2 days is something he will want more of and I guarantee he will not want to lose you now. As Nigel said, just make sure you get a signed contract / agreement in place with him.

You are also in a good position now to go back to the other dealers and negotiate with them too. Why be an employee of just one guy when you could work independently and contract your services out to multiple dealers.

I see on the website that Go Pro has 20% affiliate commission - you should be looking at that at the very least.

If it were me, I'd be calling them and finding out how I can deal with them directly - that's where you would make the most money.

Woah, I almost f'd up. Go pro has a CRAZY MAP Manufacturers advertising policy. Need to know how to sell these things online. With out showing a discount or breaking the MAP policy. That would be the blackhat question to be answered.

Where in the world are you that you can hire a model and still profit on a $25 sale? Also isn't a gopro one of those camera things you wear?
