Hey BHW fellas, I've opened threads here before but couldn't stick with the plans. Now, I've planned well to dedicate 40 hours a week which includes weekends too to make my career online.

Thought to start with a blog, I started a particular niche blog (major category is Health) and currently running it with adsense + a couple of CJ links. Unfortunately, I couldn't find any CPA offers for the niche I chose.

Now, I need your help to gain traffic for my blog. I'm posting an article a day, created a blogger & wordpress and linking the posts to my site. Wondering what's the next step..

I tried StumbleUpon and gained 20+ hits in an hour and now that too is gone. Got 1 visit so far today..

In simple words, I'm stuck and no traffic at all. Help me with your suggestions fellas

LOLz, hi! I'm still a newbie too. But I manage to get hits up to 500 Unique views a day. Might I suggest that you post health related stuff AND use google trends for news of the day?

Try other social book marking sites and submit your site or you could look for forums with a lot of users and post threads there.

BTW, what platform are you using?

You need backlings to rank your content in the search engines. Good rankings means a lot of visitors...

Here on BHW are tons of strategies about how to get backlinks. Just make sure that your pages are optimized for the keywords that you want to rank for, most important is to have the keyword in the title of your post.

Use google trends and the google keyword tool to find keywords with decent search volume and write articles about topics that cover these keywords. Then use these keywords as anchor texts for your backlinks.

This a very short breakdown of what to do, read as much as you can about seo and linkbuilding!

It's nice to see all your inputs :)

But, can someone help me a bit more explaining how to get good backlinks?

u can either get the backlinks services here in bhw, cheap and reliable one if you do a search. or you can use spinner to do the tricks.

i have tried a couple of freely available backlinks in this forum and it didn't make really much of a difference. Since i'm a new blogger too will definitely keep an eye on this thread.

Here's a piece of advice.. A watched pot never boils... It's going to take months and months to start getting regular traffic, and even that it with steady backlink building.

A 133 million blogs are out there in the Internet in some state of function or disrepair. To get noticed takes work and some time. First, what is your content like? How does your SEO look? What keywords or demogrpahics are you trying to hit?

Do some Web 2.0 as well by linking your Facebook page to your blog or create one just for that purpose. Submit some articles as well. Get some backlinks by using Scrapebox or a serivce. In other words keep investing.

I agree that backlinks are important for niche blogs. But you could also create an autoblog with a broad niche. Get a copy of WP Robot and a good Adsense optimised theme. Setup lots of keywords with WP Robot and then leave it alone.

One of mine I setup like this around 6 months ago is now getting 2000 unique visitors a day.

None of the content is unique and it doesn't have any backlinks (well, it has 30 crappy ones)

There are many ways to do it. You just have to work out what works best for you. And as someone mentioned above it's not going to happen overnight. It takes time.

I can save you about 6-10 months of blogging frustration.

STOP.

Maybe in 2003 you could throw a blog online, jam it full of keywords (backlinks, rssfeeds, relevantforumposts, andonandonandonandon) and make $12.32 a month. Now, you could spend $500 a month and 40 hours a week and make - $10.32 a month. You have TENS OF MILLIONS OF PAGES competing with you for the same idiot willing to click on your adsense/clickbank ad (which takes them OFF your site).

INSTEAD.

Instead, spend your first 40 hours on BHW, studing the Making Money, CPA, and simlar forums.

Resist the temptation to IMMEDIATELY plunge into something you see there. Let it simmer. Focus. Write ideas down in a notebook (paper, not PC).

When you have about 5 (no more than 5) ideas that interest you...really, really, interest you...

Spend the next 40 hours researching those ideas on BHW (Advanced Search is your friend).

One or two of those ideas will float to the top of your research, along with a blueprint or mindmap of what to do and how to do it.

Do that.

Of course, this is IMHO and YMMV. :D
