Illegal or just against FB TOS?

Is it illegal or just against FB TOS to use FaceWizard to rack up friend counts across many accounts? What's the worst possible punishment one can receive for this behavior?

Laws are subjective to where you are located, but to my knowledge, something like this is not illegal in most places. But you could always be held legally liable in civil court if FB could prove you cost them money or damaged their business. You'd have to be raping them HARD for a lawsuit to be worth it tho.

Forget about the criminal code, companies and individuals CAN sue you for basically anything if they can prove in court you hurt them... Remember that.

I think Grizzy pretty much nailed this one. For the most part, I'd say it's TOS that you should be most worried about. FB is so huge, the chances of you getting sued by them is slim.

On a similar note, do you think it's likely that FB will delete my page when I finally start to use facewizard to suggest my page to all my accounts' friends?

i have 3 steps facebook fans. but no ipad or something like that! but now, its got banned with saveral my other fb fan page. suck

at most they can ban you and rest is just threats.. be careful but not sacred we have to do business no matter what
