    Hi,

    Here's the plugin...
    Code:
    http://coffee2code.com/wp-plugins/customizable-post-listings/
Right now the plugin lets you automatically display links to recent or random posts on the pages of your blog.

The trouble is that it grabs recent or random posts from ALL categories. I want it to display links to other posts that are ONLY in the same category as the post those links will be displayed on.

For example, if I have a blog with two categories... 'dogs' and 'cats'...

... then when I post something to the dog category... as it is now... I may get links from pages in the cat category... and the other way around.

I want all my posts in the 'dog' category to display links to other posts in the dog category ONLY. And when I post something to the 'cat' category, then I want the plugin to display links to other posts in the cat category ONLY.

So... whatever category the post is in... I want the links displaying in that post... to be pointing to other posts from the SAME category.

If that made some sense, then I'd like to hire someone to make the mod for me.

Please look at the code and decide what you'll charge. I'm open to offers.

    Thanks,
    ed

I'm just looking at the link you posted, and I saw this:

    Code:
    function c2c_get_recent_posts( $num_posts = 5,
      $format = "<li>%post_date%: %post_URL%</li>",
      $categories = '',
      $orderby = 'date',
      $order = 'DESC',
      $offset = 0,
      $date_format = 'm/d/Y',
      $authors = '',
      $post_type = 'post',
      $post_status = 'publish'
If you put the category variable in "$categories=''", it will select from those categories only. Here is what is says about that variable:

Thanks for the attempt, but that won't do it.

I want EACH post to show links from other posts in the same category only. If I limit the categories option above, that won't do what I'm looking for.

    Thanks,
    ed

If you put in a variable that grabs the current category that you're in, then it will show links of posts of the same category. Pretty easy. :)

    Good luck,
    Nathan

Hmm... that actually sounds right. But I know NOTHING about php and would not know how to incorporate that variable properly. Are you willing to do it for a little cash? I'd truly appreciate it.
