One of my sites does cpa and has a domain like "brand-name"HQ.com. It has private whois info with namesilo. The site is kinda like a hack X niche, but without the hack part. Completely piggybacking off some long tail searches for the brand. Makes $5-$20 a day.
So I got an email from the company via privacyguardian asking me to please transfer the domain to the company within 10 days.
They say the confusion with their brand name causes damage to their image. Their email seems very polite; not angry like some cease and desists I've gotten for more blatant hack niches.
I'm not eager to switch it off since I need the money. Using the brand was a dumb idea, I was just going for an exact url.
So I've already built a new version today with a new non-infringing domain name, however it will take 2 months to rank.
Can you ignore copyright domain requests if you have private who is? I do live in USA and have it hosted on a USA host.
Thanks for any advise.
