Hi guys,

I run a legit(white hat) web service that requires a bit of technical knowledge to use it. There is one user ran into problem but instead of contacting me, she posted a question on yahoo answer which portrayed my service in a negative light because she does not know how to use it.

In hindsight, it's my fault for not providing enough documentation. However, now when you google my business name, the 2nd result is that negative yahoo answer comment.

Is there any service to help me to remove this? Flagging that user's account? Flagging it as a spam? I'm willing to pay.

You can contact yahoo , and they will delete it , use the report function .It take a few days .

Make sure to report it from atleast a few different accounts and ip .

For copy right only 1

other can be anything .

hope it helps

Answer her question in a polite professional manner explaining who you are and
offer to fix her issue free of charge.
You don't want to turn it into a catfight and risk more negative publicity and anyone
now reading that question would see it as a positive.
Never get into augments with bad reviewers.

Honestly, your best bet is to load up the SERPs with your own properties that portray your service in a more positive light. Create a bunch of articles, Web 2.0's or even another Yahoo Answers thread (or 12) and SEO the hell of them. You probably shouldn't link back to your own site with those posts, just to make it look more natural.

Thanks for the tip. Do Yahoo manually verify every report or it's automatic? The user only registered Yahoo answer to post the question so I'm not even sure if he's a decoy of my competitor. The question is also 6 month old since I didn't have time to deal with this issue until now. Will this affect the chance of flagging it and get it deleted?

oxonbeef,

Thanks. Your suggestion is very sound. I actually posted a polite reply to help the user on Yahoo Answer. Unfortunately, when an average user google my website, he/she will see "How to Get Rid of XXXX?". This makes my product sound like a virus even though I have few thousand happy users.

Thanks, Would you recommend to create multiple account just to ask question related to my service? For example, "what do you think about xyz?"

I have the same problem with my ecommerce store but in my case the yahoo answer moved to page 2 over a period of time on its own.

I could use some quick cash, so if you are willing to pay and still need help, PM me. :)
