thanks for the responses, just a bit odd, you'd think they would be more subtle with the fake followers.

See the post likes are about 20 - 50 only. no post reachability. Clear case of fake/bot followers.

Many accounts do that, they bot a huge amount of fake followers and then they start posting pictures where they send likes to. Even though most of them leave a ridiculous engagement which is easily recognised.
