Hello members,

I usually do not post in this forum of BHW, but I thought that there are maybe programming experts on here that can give insight on this:

What programming languages does Mark Zuckerberg need to execute to make instagram AND does he do this all by himself or are there others that do it for him or with him?

Im not understanding your post at all?

Im not asking for a service to build a social network or app...thus do not need a freelancer.. Please re read
 
Last I heard Instagram is coded in HTML - and yes, Mark Zuckerberg has coded it himself.

The hashtag feature was too complex to code by HTML only, so they used CSS for that.

It's hosted on a VPS from One.com but they are looking to put it on a dedicated server next year.

But it could not be ONLY HTML

is mobile heavy and it has to require Javascript and others
 
I think @yakuzaemme made a ( tbh not very good) joke.
Facebook bought Instagram some years ago, so good old Mark haven't any impact on the original Instagram.
As a framework I think they use django

Ok, that makes sense.
and yes I thought his answer was a little off, but I even considered it considering IG has an desktop site version as well aside from the APP

I removed the Thanks/like I gave him and now gave it to you...unless your answer is a joke to lol

Haha, @yakuzaemme answer was funny for me. I heard they used EC2 free tier to host it at first though and kept creating new accounts until facebook bought them. :)

After reading I remembered that html is a markup language, not a programming / coding language.
In terms of languages used, I found this:

Such a project would probably require more than one person to create a social network capable of scaling millions of requests. You would need a large server.
Not to mention design elements, etc. Maybe someone in the front-end would take care of that.

Current mobile version is built with React Native
Back end is running mostly with Python 3

I heard they may even start using Javascript, but Mark Zuckerberg still isn't sure if he should continue learning HTML and CSS or move to Javascript.
