IG "Not Recommendable" loop - review button acting weird. Help?

Hey guys,

Need a hand with a shadowban situation. I’ve been running an "edge" niche account (mostly suggestive/flashes). It was doing really well, hit over 700k reach in 30 days and 1200 followers, but IG is nuking me now.

They’ve pulled about 8 posts recently for sexual activity/nudity: 3 on Jan 18th, 2 on the 11th, and 2 more today. Normally, when the account goes "not recommendable," I get a clear prompt saying "remove these posts to fix your status." I usually just delete them, hit review, and I'm back in the green within 24 hours.

This time it’s different. When I go to check why I’m restricted, it just shows a list of the posts they already deleted. There’s no "remove to fix" option anymore. I still have the main "Request Review" button for the account itself, but I’m hesitant to touch it because I still have 200+ other edge posts live. I feel like if a human looks at it now, they’ll just perma-ban the whole thing.

My plan is to archive/purge the entire account and remove the bitly link I had in the bio (already did that). Should I just ghost the account for a week after archiving everything and then hit the review button? Or should I try to post some "safe" content like dancing reels for a few days first to try and trick the scan before I appeal?

Anyone seen this specific loop where the recommendation prompts disappear? Really don't want to lose this node.

I think once that remove to fix option is gone it’s usually a cooldown phase, and touching review too early can make it worse.
 
This usually means the account moved past “auto fix” into a higher risk bucket. Don’t hit review with edge posts live. Archive/delete all borderline content, stay idle for about 5 to 7 days, post a few clearly safe reels to reset signals, then request review. Ghosting alone can work but clean posts before appeal lowers ban risk.
 
For shadow bans, go to the account settings and click "account status". In there, you will see that Instagram will show you if you violated any terms on any video. From there, remove the video that is flagged, and the account should be fine within 10-14 days.

Hey videos are already removed by IG. All they show is the list of removed videos over couple months. I used to get the option that you are saying but this time they deleted couple videos and I guess just flagged the account overall. I am just following instructions from above comments. Waiting for a week, archiving all the posts, then posting very Safe posts for a few days and then I’ll try to submit a review.

go for you last strategy. ghost em, trick em, come back and rock them :))
 
If the “remove to fix” option disappeared, it usually means the restriction is account‑level now, not post‑level. That’s harder to reverse.

Posting safe content for a few days won’t really change internal flags. If you appeal, make sure the profile is fully cleaned first. Otherwise, a manual review could escalate things instead of helping.

A stupid fix but this used to work for me - first remove all of the problematic content then remove the link for 2 days, dont do anything in this time period. After that put the link back in bio. For some reason link remove works as a 'restart' button for an account.
 
From what you’re describing, it sounds like the account moved from an auto-fix state into a broader integrity restriction on Instagram. When the “remove to fix” option disappears, it often means the system isn’t evaluating single posts anymore, but the overall content pattern.

Yeah, that “Not Recommendable” loop can be annoying. The review button sometimes just gets stuck. Usually, a quick fix is to restart the app, make sure it’s updated, or log out and back in. If it keeps happening, reporting it through Settings → Help → Report a Problem usually gets it sorted.
 
When the review button acts weird, it’s often a temporary system state, not a permanent penalty.
Best move is to avoid making rapid changes and let the account stabilize for a few days.

I believe ghosting the account for a week or two might be the optimal solution. The you can hit the review button and your account will probably be reinstated. You're in a difficult position though; if a human catches you you can get permabanned very easily.
 
I’ve seen that happen before. When the “remove to fix” option disappears, it usually means the account is already under a deeper review.

If it were me, I’d archive/remove risky posts and stop posting for a few days, let the account cool down, then request the review. Posting more “edge” content before the review can sometimes make things worse.
