IG Limits

I keep seeing mentions of the 7500 limit, and would like for someone to elaborate on that.

What is the 7500 limited to? Clearly it cant be followers or following cause I see accts with numbers that are 10x higher than that
So Im guessing it must be some sort of ratio....enlighten me please, thanks

7500 is the limit to the amount of people you can follow

7,500 is the limit of the accounts you can follow. After you reach 7,500 followings you won't be able to follow anymore until you unfollow some of the previously followed users.

There are users with more than 7,500 followings because in the past there were no limits.

Ok, Gotcha
now it makes sense why I keep seeing "unfollow" so much. This whole time I was wondering "why is everyone so hellbent on unfollowing ppl?" if they unfollow ppl, then those ppl will also unfollow them too, lol.
But now I perfectly understand why though, thanks.

One important detail regarding followings and unfollowing... if you follow let's say 7499 users that do not follow you back, then you can just follow one more user.
That said, it's important to find a way to keep track of the followings so that it can unfollow these people.

Yes, most people will unfollow you but some of them will be too lazy to do it. And if you have good content then they might even look pass this.
