Some of my IG accounts are getting disabled, and after appealing IG is requesting to submit this:

Please reply to this email and attach a photo of yourself holding a hand-written copy of the code below.
68533
Please make sure that the photo you send:
- Includes the above code hand-written on a clean sheet of paper, followed by your full name and username - Includes both your hand that's holding the sheet of paper and your entire face - Is well-lit, and is not too small, dark or blurry - Is attached to your reply as a JPEG file

This tells me that their automatic ban was triggered because the account is posting photos of things that are not human (viral posts of nature or travel).

My theory is they detect that it isn't a "personal" account and therefore want proof that it is run by a human.

Has anyone else ever experienced this? If so, what are you doing to get around this? Should the page be converted to a "business page" straight away? Or how can we avoid these automatic bans in future?

At least they are offering a solution I guess you'll go through.
I would make them business if this are big accounts.
Further than that I am also interested into a more knowledgeable answer.

It's not even a big, its 3 months old, has 150 followers. But it is reposting content from other pages, with pixels modified.

is this your first day? you will get that on 99% of appeals. they need to know if you are a cripple or not.

You can add GEO-Location to your photos. It will create some misunderstanding between the bots scans and your content spam score

They always ask this, my personal account was disabled once and I had to do this, it’s just their verification process to make sure you’re not a robot lol.

how long did it take for them to respond to you?

If you don't want to show your face, just go on Fiverr and pay $5 a guy who will do it for you

I see a business at fiverr on hold a sign section.

I think that if the number of accounts for being verified is high, you can't send 20 or 30 pics of you, and you are going to need hiring people for sending you a pic holding the verification code for not looking suspicious.

in some cases I try to submit the Appeal form, and it comes up with "Cannot find the username you have specified". And I can't do a password reset, or sign up again using the same username. So they're not even letting me appeal and they say my account doesn't exist, this is like a permanent ban?

Hire someone for that picture or better do it for yourself. Get it done fast if you wish to retrieve the account back to its normal state as there's no plan B for this one.

hire someone to get the account back? or hire someone to randomise the images? How does hiring someone to randomise all my future posts get my old account back? I'm confused.

The account is definitely deleted. You cannot use the same username again of a deleted instagram account. You cannot recover it, you cannot appeal. This is permanent, you are not temporarily banned. Your account is permanently deleted. There's nothing you can do about it. Create something new with a different username and move on.
