Has anyone here experienced an Instagram account being suspended for no clear reason?

A friend’s account (which had like 10k followers on it and sold items through it) got suspended for no reason. Unable to Restore Even After ID Verification

Yeah, that happens quite a bit lately — Instagram’s automated systems sometimes flag accounts incorrectly, especially ones doing sales or frequent DMs; usually appealing through the “My account was disabled by mistake” form is the only shot at recovery.

Some people have had luck contacting Instagram Business Support via Facebook Ads Manager. Worth a try.

This happens a lot with Instagram. Their algorithm can flag accounts wrongly. If ID verification doesn’t work, just keep trying and be patient.

It happens often lately with Instagram’s new review system. Keep appealing through the official form and attach clear ID each time.

In the case of your friend, you would need to have him make a second account and then reach out to meta support that way. However, for the account getting suspdneded, you would need to make sure that you are following there TOS when it comes to posting on the account. Otherwise, they can suspend it. Just make sure to follow TOS and the profile should be good.

Yeah, it’s frustrating. Sometimes appealing through the business support chat works better especially if the account was used for sales. Worth a shot if regular recovery fails.

Unfortunately, Instagram can suspend accounts without a clear reason. The best approach is to document everything, try multiple appeal channels, and stay persistent while avoiding repeated risky actions on other accounts.

Yeah, seen that happen a lot lately Insta’s auto-flags are wild. Try appealing through support a few times; sometimes it randomly works

Logged in from different IPs or any suspicious activity but still they will warn you before getting banned.

I forgot to mention, recently one of my account related to crypto got banned and I did not even appeal them. After 2 days, I got an email saying we are sorry.
Instagram is like weird they ban for no reason

Yeah, I think it’s happening more often lately, Instagram’s automated systems are way more aggressive now, especially with accounts that show sudden engagement spikes or sell directly through DMs or comments.
Even if your friend followed all the rules, the account might’ve been caught in a mass sweep. ID verification doesn’t always help if the account was flagged by their internal “integrity” filters rather than user reports.
Best move is to submit the appeal through the Meta Business Help Center instead of the in app form, that route tends to reach real support staff. Also, make sure the domain, email, and business info linked to the account match perfectly.
For the future, I’d suggest warming up a backup page and diversifying traffic (e.g., website or email list).
Instagram can nuke accounts overnight even when you play by the book.

There is always a reason
It's usually related to flagged IPs or blacklisted devices
If your phone is linked to a previously banned account, it can still affect your current account

Yeah, I’ve seen that happen a few times recently — even to legit accounts with no shady activity. Instagram’s system sometimes auto-flags accounts after updates or sudden activity spikes (like posting too often, mass DMs, or logging in from different IPs).

If your friend already did ID verification and still can’t restore it, the best shot is to appeal again through the “My Instagram account was deactivated” form — and make sure to use the same email tied to that account. Sometimes it takes a few rounds before a real human reviews it.

Also, tell them not to create new accounts on the same phone or IP right away — that can trigger a chain suspension. Wait a few days, clear cache, and use a clean device/browser before trying again.

i will give anyone 100usd who can tell me the exact reason for bans, nobody knows its just generic advice

there will be a reason for it, but no one knows imo

Yeah, that kind of thing happens more often than people think and it’s frustrating as hell. Instagram’s automated moderation system sometimes flags accounts incorrectly, especially ones that are actively selling items, using third-party apps, or showing sudden spikes in engagement (even if it’s all legit).

Generally, accounts don't get suspended for no reason. It's possible that your friend's account was flagged as suspicious during selling or transactions.

If that's not the case, ask him to think back — has he been switching devices frequently, changing IPs, or logging into multiple accounts on the same device? Any of these actions can trigger a suspension, though most people don't realize it.

If he needs to manage multiple accounts, keeping a stable browser fingerprint really helps avoid this kind of problem.
