My friend told me her husband suffered stroke since 4 months ago.
Age 53

I also got another colleague in which her mum got dementia.
Age around 69-70

From their experience, really terrible. Like wanna give up. Every day need to clean up their mess, urine, poop.

If you in their situation, are you willing to give up?

As a reality fact, even some elder-care centres refuse to accept patients with stroke and dementia.

I told my wife if one day i got stroke or dementia, just let me and die and dump it into wastebin, no need funeral services and waste money. I won't wanna burden her and family.

Any opinions guys?

No offense, you remind me of my wife who always asks me similar questions:
Would I still love her if she turned into a bug?
If she becomes paralyzed in her old age, will I dance with other old ladies while she has to watch from a wheelchair?

There are also very good care homes that are runned just for this type of problems. At least in my country, even if you are a son or daughter you don´t have the training or knowledge to deal with it at home, people with this problem should live in a care center that knows their shit.

My downstairs neighbor just lost her husband of 54 years to Parkinson's. She took care of him, and it's possible. My father is having some cognitive issues due to his age, and since my mom passed away, we would never leave him.

There are ways to manage situations like this instead of giving up. Services like home care and group support help.
