I have been reading several discussions about Google Ads lately, and one question came to mind: are we building traffic or simply renting it? Ads can validate an offer quickly, but once the spending stops, the traffic usually follows. SEO takes much longer. A 2026 WebFX study of 1,462 domains found that top-ranking websites had a median of 907 referring domains and continued gaining around 48 new domains per month. The numbers will obviously vary by niche, but the direction is interesting.
