I was watching Shawshank Redemption again recently (I watch it once every 2 years or so cuz such a great movie), and it got me thinking about a few things.
Some people are in there for so long that they become "institutionalized" and they actually find life easier and simpler inside than to be freed and released back out
in society where they have nothing (no skills, no jobs, no contacts etc).

So which countries in the world have the best prisons if you were to go to one?

I think I've seen a few yt videos about how amazing prisons in Scandinavian countries are (Norway, Finland?) or some other countries in Europe.
Obviously poor countries and regions like South America, parts of Asia, Africa are no go.
America seems to be pretty bad too for a first world nation.

I would definitely say the nonviolent societies.... Japan, Sweden/Norway/Finland/Denmark/Estonia or Iceland lol I'd imagine they'd be relatively chill... Maybe the UK if you can hold your own and want to try to pass the time being entertained by ridiculous names for things while overhearing your fellow inmates conversations ... (I saw a recent s- albeit random - survey of what people from the UK call "ding dong ditching" - among the most popular were "Knicky Knocky 9 doors" "Knock down ginger" and "Chip chip chappy") - they may serve you "Spotted Dick" or "Bubble and Squeak" at chow, or refresh your "knickers" with "washing up liquid" lol. You can't possibly be intimidated by a dude who says "knicky knocky 9 doors" in any circumstance LOL...

US Prisons are brutal.. I know this. I will leave it at that... I'd rank them below a lot of poor countries..

German prisons are quite easy. No beed to work just chill and watch tv. You are allowed to leave the cell for One hour per day. To get fresh air

If you are doing good things and work for example, you can even sleep at home for a bight per month or so.

We even have open jails for the good guys. You work outside etc and just sleep there

Most likely Sweden, Norway, Finland, Iceland and probably Germany.

Scandinavian countries are (Norway, Finland?)
Just a quick note. Finland is not part of Scandinavia.

No place is good to go to jail. Lol
Freedom is freedom.
Captivity is captivity.

Call a spade a spade.

Japan? non-military sociaty ? lol

I don't want to be in any jail, unless it has a gaming pc and wifi available in every cell :)

Either Sweden or Norway, because—unlike American prisons—their prisons are actually designed to rehabilitate criminals back into decent people, rather than punishing them by holding them up in a small cold room for several decades.

Prisons in Sweden and Norway treat inmates with respect, and uphold their rights. Inmates have access to computers (heavily monitored, of course), TVs in the cells, comfortable beds, good food, amenities, etc.

European countries would be best , Hence south korae Jails shall be like Hell !
