If You Had a Budget, Where Would You Start?

You got SOLID skills i dont think you need our help , i would just focus on what i know and works but i would try and also build a brand around my skills, building a brand will allow you to have credibility in the long run and if you build it well with the skills you have you can reach more then 20k a month !

if you have experience in the adult niche, then OFM looks like a no-brainer for me
+ you don't need a big budget, but yours will allow you to scale fast

If I had $20k left and wanted to grow my portfolio even more I would save all the $20k or put it in an investment account. In your case you know web development, therefore if I were you, I'd do custom website projects, collect reviews into a website (not fiverr or upwork) then tell clients to bring a friend and if they do, they get a 20% discount on their next order. You don't need to invest money in order to get money. So save your $20k.

I would look for something related to igaming. If you live in the US, then perhaps working with marketplaces.

Nice skills and mindset With your experience I’m sure you’ll find a solid direction soon Good luck on your journey!

With $20K and your skillset, here's what I'd do:

Option 1: AI Content Agency (Your wheelhouse)

  • Investment: $5k setup + $15k for 6mo runway
  • Leverage: Web dev + automation + SEO skills
  • Target: E-comm/DTC brands needing UGC/ads at scale
  • Path to $30-50k: 5-10 clients at $5-10k/mo retainer
  • Timeline: 3-6 months to hit target
You already have the tech skills. Just need sales + positioning.

Option 2: Programmatic SEO Sites (Lower risk)

  • Investment: $10k content + tools, $10k link building
  • Build 3-5 high-intent affiliate sites (finance, SaaS, crypto)
  • Automate with your dev skills
  • Path to $30-50k: Need 200k+ monthly traffic
  • Timeline: 8-12 months
Option 3: Phone Farm Operation (High volume)
  • Investment: $15k infrastructure (phones, proxies, sims)
  • 40-50 TikTok accounts → OF/Fansly funnel
  • You have automation skills = competitive edge
  • Path to $30-50k: Scale to 100+ accounts
  • Timeline: 4-6 months but ban-heavy
My recommendation: Option 1

Why? You're technical + have marketing chops. AI agency has highest margin, fastest path to $50k/mo, and scales without inventory/bans.

Execution:
  1. Pick ONE niche (fitness, beauty, supplements)
  2. Build killer portfolio with AI tools (Midjourney, Runway, ElevenLabs)
  3. Outreach 100 brands/week
  4. Close 2-3 clients month 1 at $3-5k
  5. Deliver + upsell to $8-10k
  6. Rinse repeat
DM if you want specifics on the agency angle - I'm running similar model now.

I’m currently not working, but financially I’m fine no worries there. I’m not asking for money or looking for a quick fix.

Let’s say you had $20K to invest or spend, how would you start?
I’m open to hearing ideas, courses, or any thoughts on where to begin.

My skills now
- Web development and automations
- SEO
- Use to run dropshipping store (facebook ads mostly) back then successfully.
- launched over 100's adult niche websites and got SEO traffic but made only few 1000's

I'm aiming to 30-50K usd a month.
20-50k a month out of a 20k investment is aiming way too high.
Better stop dreaming op.

You don't need to invest much. Build yourself a brand. Specialize on creating websites combined with automation and AI.

Basically invest in yourself. Run meta ads for attracting new clients.

On option 1, what stops someone from just making their own Ecom brand? Seems like 20-50k should be enough to build one out, scale, then sell the business for a big paycheck. With that said, I haven't done it before but I'm in a similar boat and was thinking of testing ideas before one hit, then ordering inventory and scaling it up.

Buy an idea you strongly believe in. I would check SaaS deal sites, and PM each of the owners. For like $30k-$50k most of the chumps would exit, and run with the cash.

Now that you have the business, you can close the deals on every site, revamp things, add more benefits, and relaunch at a higher price.

If I were you and had $20,000 and your skills, I would regard it like constructing a digital asset that can grow instead of trying to make money quickly. You already know a lot about SEO, automation, and paid traffic, so keep working on those. I'd propose putting some of that money into establishing a niche authority site or a SaaS-style automation product that you can keep for a long time. You could also put a small amount of money into testing proven, data-driven advertising ads. Don't rush to grow; instead, focus on one project that has a lot of promise to keep going, develop strong systems, and let consistency build your outcomes.
What kind of niche would you recommend as a beginner? Also, B2B or B2C?

I think ill go for B2B it's the easier, most B2B data is out there. I have friends that just scraping data and promoting loans with emails. you can learn it fast and it can bring you results really fast and with small budget.

Do not start based on budget if you are newbie. You will end up with zero.
