it would be great if some of you Wordpress users would be kind enough to help me finish my master's thesis. Namely, the exact subject is "Analysis and design of a system solution for a plug and play workflow of wordpress".

So ... Just share your experiences where you think Wordpress developers can make an effort and create a solution that will be integrated in the platform and will save you valuable amount of time and efforts.

For example, if you use 10 different plugins for your keyword tracking efforts, maybe some of those processes can be integrated with WP or even simple stuff like text and photo editing.

You get the idea ... Thanks in advance, if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask, but I believe the people here know more about the given subject than me.

Interesting question, harder to find a good answer which is easily doable.

What I'm still looking for is a good way to add products from Affiliate-Shops like Zanox, Affili.net, etc.
There are plugins, but they are tough to set-up & manage. Also, when a product isn't available anymore, you have to update the products.

So lot's of management from the current solutions.

Otherwise, there are already sooo many WP-Plugins available. For most of the websites, you just find everything you need.
We're heading more into a direction where we plugin stuff into WP by accessing external APIs.

There's really nothing I do on any of my sites that takes terribly long other than writing the articles, but I would rather not take shortcuts that would diminish the writing quality on any of my sites.

I suppose if I could have one function integrated into Wordpress, I would want them to integrate the security plugins Rename wp-login.php and Login LockDown. It wouldn't necessarily save time, but having these options pre-installed in the settings rather than as separate plugins may prevent future security issues for people who don't know about these plugins or people who are prone to bruteforce attacks via wp-login.php.

It would be nice if WP had the ability to have multi-site option easily available from a single site installation. Like a control setting right from the dashboard to enable this.

Probably automatic backup built in, instead of having to use a third party app. Seeing as its probably the most important thing to have on a WP site.

A plugin that gave me the ability to drag my websites to the top of Google and other peoples sites down. Just like a drag and drop feature.

I can provide you with this plugin for $7, let me know if you're interested. Guaranteed #1 ranking for any keyword, instantly and permanently.

when i copy paste from ms word, it should take it as such.

How about having a native advanced WP SEO module. That can provide the functionalities of different SEO plugins such as all in one SEO and yoast etc.. with some reporting capability (traffic, backlinks etc.)

Built in option for adding analytic and webmasters code . I always face troubles in adding these codes. As sometimes yoast and All in one Seo did not work .

A built in drag and drop post editor will also save time.

i think improve security, while there are security plugins and i use two on each site to have better admin security would be good

I can only imagine the BSTs that would come out for that.

"Batman Versus Superman 24/7 Drag 'N' Drop To The Top Of The SERPs - Always Stay On Top Of Your Competitors Guaranteed"

Authentication Unique Keys and Salts autogenerate at each install :) , that's will be most probably best thing to add with auto brute-force lock-down will be near to impossible for scriptkiddies to gain access to vulnerable sites .

Thanks for the answers guys, really appreciate it. Will discuss them with mu mentor and choose my focus. Will get back to you with the decision, but my clean favorite is mickyfy 's idea :)

@keinehabe, i'm totally thinking the same as you....

Hey there guys. I've met with my mentor and we talked a great deal about your ideas regarding security and backup, which seems to be one of the biggest fields of improvement that WP developers need to work on in the future. Yet it's a pretty vast field for me right now, maybe if I ever need to make a doctorate, I will work on this subject :)

For now I've decided to go and research the suggestions made by sunny_clicks and CrazyBudy, which are more focused towards the IM side of WP. Reasons for this is that I want to make a quality research and I feel more comfortable in this areas.

The whole thing should be done in couple of weeks, I will probably write it in my native language (technicalities), but will share the details of it here.

Thanks again! You've all been helpful

it would be better to use your own thoughts rather than copy mine word for word just to boost your post count
