Apparently AMD's Ryzen R7 1700x is going to be on par with the i7 6900K and cost a fraction of the price.

I was going to either buy a budget or refurbished computer soon, but now waiting until ryzen comes out and the gaming benchmarks come out.

Interesting I was looking to build a new PC soon, might hold out until I see more information about AMD Ryzen.
 
Hmmm, seems like I'll go from my 4770k to AMD for my next upgrade :D
 
Personally not a fan of AMD. But it'll be interesting to see benchmarks once this one comes out.
 
IMO AMD is the Nokia of CPUs. They have talented people and they were able to catch up many times.

They created the x64 architecture, and I thought they also created the dual core(looks like they didn't), still they brought dual core before intel.

Nonetheless, if Intel wasn't playing dirty, I'm sure AMD was in a much better spot right now.
 
Yeah I recall discussion from somewhere about this when I was after a new PC (didn't built new one yet) in November or so I've heard rumors about waiting on February and AMD that's going to be something good at a decent price. So this is it. :)
 
I was so close to ordering a G4560 since it performs really well when paired with a RX 470 since I only planned on doing 1080p gaming, but with the R7 1700x or even 1700 and getting a RX 480 I would be able to play at 1440p for a long time without needing to upgrade.

It has a serious downside though, it's not an Intel. :P

I have bad experience with AMD, so i just stick with Intel. I didn't have too many AMD parts so far, 1 CPU and 2 GPUs and one GPU became faulty (of course right after the guarantee expired). 1 out of 3 is a pretty shitty rate methinks. Maybe i was unlucky with that one, but i had so many Intel parts so far and not a single one went poof, so i tend to believe, that Intel makes more quality products.
 
i've only had a bad experience with AMD.
3 out of 3 amd CPUs have died in brothers computers, while intel has remained dead reliable.

hope it changes for them though.
 
AMD ? Only for tetris PC.
Funny some hosting providers are using AMD chipsets .. :D
 
Hey guys I have to build a cpu at a budget of 700$ what will be the best specs i can get.
currently own a lenovo y700 laptop with i7 16gb ram but its uncomfortable to work on laptop for long.
So anyone with good knowledge of processor can help me please.
 
Looking forward to Intel being forced to drop their prices massively because AMD became viable again.
