Wordpress should do nothing right? It will never run on the server right?

Yes, it wont rule. The index.php of the Wordpress CMS will still be active than the index.html unless you specially modify the .htaccess to read the index.html first.
 
most servers are configured to read .html pages before .php, so it should go to the html page first (if you go straight to the base URL/domain)

but you can still access the site by putting a /index.php at the end, and it will still be indexed by g
 
For good measure I just went ahead and deleted theindex.php files. Ill be on a VPS by next Friday anyway..

It will read the .html first.

Try it, won't hurt your site, you can just delete the .html after you tested.
 
I was running 60 wordpress site on shared hosting something went wrong and even when i dropped it down to 15 WP sites the servers were still overloading. Look at my sig.

Even one wordpress site can bring down a shared hosting account. Wordpress does a lot of stuff in the background as it is. When you load it up with plugins and start adding posts all day long you can overload a shared server pretty quick.

I honestly think it was a combination of my sites getting larger and them overselling a server.

Oh will ill switch to host winds vps this week and see how it goes.
 
Personal experience with this matter... Your index.html will overrule your wordpress. May have just been the theme I was using idk... Oh and I also didn't change anything to my .htaccess file.

Or the Apache settings if you're using apache...
