If I change a joomla website to wordpress, is this going to hurt the website rank? The website is right now on the 3rd position of google (and always was at the first spot). Thanks!

If you switch to WP your ranking is not going to improve So i suggest to you just work with Joomla and try to move to number 1 spot

If you do it properly nothing bad can happened(as you have to know there is always a little risk). You have to redirect ALL urls, make sure that most of the content, structure are the same and you don't generate any new duplicate content pages.

I don't see the point in changing it but as long as you keep the same perm link structure you should be fine.
