It's just a price appraisal like any.. Or is it because you don't have access to traffic stats, earning stats etc?

No one with good business sense would be able to give you an answer just like that. There is a lot of research that would have to be done first.
 
Forums (i.e. user-generated content properties) are not worth nearly what most people might assume them to be given that their popularity -- and therefore value -- hinge upon the quality of participation relative to the knowledge level of the participants; and, the extent to which that set can be projected and therefore monetised. That said, we're on the Internet: no doubt in my mind this forum could sell for a million USD +. I certainly wouldn't pay that, though.

Short version: Ever been a member of a forum that changed administrative/moderative hands? Did you like it? ...this affects the medium- and long-term value projections of any intelligent investor and what they will pay, therefore.
