I remember when I was still in school and a student said he had the swine flu back when everyone was paranoid about catching it. He was joking but the entire school did not take it that way. The next day everyone came to school wearing protective face masks (except me and a few other people) and the student had been suspended. The student who had made the joke also began receiving death threats because people wanted to 'purge the community' of swine flu before it spreads. The poor kid had to move because of it.

This is the same thing. I could understand it if they were travelling from Africa to the US and the man spoke with a thick accent, but they were travelling from the Dominican Republic and the man was clearly from the US (just listen to his vernacular). In a few months (or a year depending on how paranoid everyone gets) everyone will forget about Ebola and comedians will be making a joke out of this in no time.

See those 4,155,110 searches? That's the United States of America.

Remember, Influenza claims an average of 36,000 lives and hospitalises 200,000 people each year. Ebola has killed 233 people in the US. The are 316.1 million people the United States, so the chances of you dying from Ebola are roughly 1 in a million.

Man With Tourette Syndrome Banned From Flight After Saying 'Bomb'

A man with Tourette syndrome says he was not allowed to board a flight at Reagan National Airport because he said the word bomb close to 100 times.

"I was telling myself in my head before don't say bomb. When you try to suppress Tourette's, it comes out even worse," said Michael Doyle.

Doyle, 19, said he arrived at Washington, D.C.'s Reagan National Airport Thursday with medical documentation describing his condition. Doyle and his friend got through security but after sitting in the boarding area, a JetBlue pilot heard Doyle say bomb and refused to let him on the flight.
