Hello,

I recently took over a business page with around 50k Fans. A few years ago someone purchased a mass of around 20k fake Likes. So not quite half, but a decent portion of the fan base.

It's definitely impacting their edge rank, so that posts are constantly fighting an uphill battle. And I'm wary of spending much on promoting posts until we take care of some of the old fakes.

The problem is, I can't find a clear signal as to their fakeness. They all are United States listed, English as language. Are there any apps out there that have a more robust method of detecting fakeness (looking at page engagement, post history, etc.)? Or does anyone have any advice as to how I might tackle this problem?

Thanks so much in advance!

Why did you buy a page knowing it's got fake likes on it?

Stupid fucking responses.

when you say 'all United States listed' do you mean the entire fan base? Or just the fakes?
Did the fakes all come in during a short period?? If so you can limit your search during that time. Otherwise you need to get a reasonable sample of those fakes...maybe 100 profiles and note the similarities between them. There may be a few key factors that ALL of them have in common (similar join date, lack of pictures, lack of any engagement, inactivity after a certain date, missing profile info, etc etc etc). Get a programmer to develop a script that removes the offenders.

The comment above me gives you a deep insight. Ou can use a tool like simplmeasured to do a deep anylysis of your fans. Spot out the fans with similar demography, engagement and all. Weed them out .
Another thing i would suggest is ignore the fake fans and spend more of the time building real fans.
