Ideas to rank a job board

Hello guys,

I am trying to set up a plan for my next project. This will be a job board in a totally new niche, for me. The niche seems to be nice and low competitive and I believe that there is the demand of having a job board, which focuses on this particular niche.

Has anybody done that to just create a job board without any further rankings in the niche? How would you do that? Any good backlinking strategies?

Well, like any other project that relies on user-generated content you'll have a HARD time getting traction in the beginning unless you've really got something unique/enticing. Think about it, who's going to be the first people to post to a job board when there are barely any posts there? What I would do, which is sort of gray hat I suppose, is scrape and spin job listings from other sites if possible. Try to make your sites look real busy and populated with posts. Then go and promote it on niche forums and stuff like that...

After that you can start thinking about ranking for related keywords. Maybe setup special landing pages for the largest keywords and do the usual (build links, bla bla).
