We've a fanpage that was established years ago and forgotten for a while. It has over a million likes but as stated, not an active site on our part. Any suggestions on how to engage without losing likes? Fan base is teenagers and slightly older, worldwide both male and female. Likes were probably due to its name which is a phrase that states a random classroom behavior. Any new ecard type stuff up and coming? On a grander scale need to come up with a direction for it.

My page only has 12k and I forgot about it for a while and the talking about it was down to the hundreds. I posted a photo every half an hour for 8 hours, the next day did it every hour and the day after every 2 hours. Now it's back up to 3k talking about this with a lot of interactions on the photos.
Linked a video a few months back, think it was Katey Perry. I watched the page get unliked nervously for about a day, probably lost 500 originally. But then the likes started coming back in odd spurts. It eventually went back to its original number and when the spurts come, more likes come - so ahead after the video but probably not because of the video.

Go scrape some selfies from instagram or twitter. There are plenty of funny images that you could refine and post up. See if people are engaged into liking, commenting, etc. From there try out some new funny things. Laughter is the easiest way to get people enjoying your content. You could do some similar 1 line images where 1 word is missing and ask them to fill it in like GST's method earlier.

Keep update page with funny pics and interesting stuff which people like 
Beyond what's stated above, try to stimulate conversation with text updates. Like ask questions in your status, make it silly stuff that people can relate too and people will start talking about it. Add viral videos that are new. Think about what people are going to see on their live feed tomorrow and put it on your page today.
