I have a few big pages on facebook and have learned a few tricks on how to grow fan base.
In the last few days I have setup fan pages from scratch, then link on one of my larger pages for a few hours. This gives a surge of new fans to the new page and gets the ball rolling, each day approx 1,000-2,000 new fans join the pages.
my tip on creating pages is: pick something general, not a limited niche & CERTAINLY NOT free offers page. Make it related to sports, tv progs etc, soemthing that will attract people to view and join. Once this page gets big, then use that traffic to direct towards your monetized pages
