There is nothing like ideal. You need to maintain 70% brand name anchors and some direct URL anchors. You should avoid explicitly promoting a pillar content hoping to get a huge traffic spike. Always try to establish your site as an authority and distribute traffic through internal links.

The best answer to this is to mimic what ranking sites are already using. Check your target SERP, and export the backlinks for say the top 5, and go through the anchors used. If they're all mainly branded and you're mainly using keyword anchors, it's time to bump up your branding and social presence.
