    Hey,
I was wondering if that could work: for example I create a website for a search called "where to get a beer for free", I`ll rank it to the top of the SE and when the user comes I`ll locate his ip and say something like this "There is bar which would give you a one beer for free in /his state/city/ if you want to get more info press here and complete a short form. He presses and I`ll give him a redirected CPA form - will this kind of method work and is it possible to hide it from SE penalizing you? Maybe it is a stupid idea but I just want to know what you guys think. Thanks :)

Ok, so I made a website on this idea (with a popular keyword of course) but the tactics are almost the same. What would the CPA companies think of this idea? Should I try to hide it? How? The CPA offer for the "beer guy" would be something with "beer" if that would help. Thanks for your comments.

you might want to rank for the keyterm "free blow jobs" it gets 40500 searches and it has very low competition .

Here is the thing. Cpa companies only care about 1 thing, making the Advertisers happy. If the traffic you are send turns out to be "junk" traffic for them, they will complain to the CPA company, and then you have a problem. It doesn't matter what your method is, the CPA company will be mad if the advertiser complains.

Because your website will be at least mostly related to the CPA offer, you shouldn't have to worry. As long as you are saying like a 100% complete lie like "Complete this offer on this next page and I will send you free stuff in the mail" you should be ok.

Does that count as a complete lie? Because there are no bars who serve free beers in his area. But the guy is going to get some "alkohol type subscription" so he is kind of a "targeted audience" for the advertisers. ?

Thanks for your encouragement, it really means to me a lot. Everything is almost ready but what I am not sure about is the CPA part...because I have no experience with dealing with them I don`t know what company to choose, or should I try hide my method from them and how... I am really confused about it but I do my best and I try to figure it out. Some tips would be wonderful though....

I don't count it as a complete lie, because he MAY get a Free Beer from completing the offer, we really don't know! I think it should be ok honestly, I would say don't worry because the site is on topic with the offer.

I actually think it's a pretty cool idea because it entails getting regional traffic from the SEs.

Keywords that are specific to a particular city or state ("where to get free beer in New Brunswick") are much, much easier to hit than generic keywords ("where to get free beer"). One of the main problems with promoting CPA with SEs is that SE traffic tends to come from all over the place, not just the country that the CPA offer applies to, so you end up "wasting" a lot of traffic.

Like Kickflip said, if the CPA offer is related to your free beer offer, you should still get conversions and it will work out for the advertiser. You could even match the appearance of your site to the CPA offer for better conversions.

You could do it for all kinds of local searches eg.
"travel agent New Brunswick" --> Southwest $1000 gift card offer
"where is walmart in New Brunswick" --> $1000 Walmart gift card
"steak restaurant New Brunswick" --> Morton's $100 gift card
"justin bieber concert New Brunswick" --> $1000 Ticketmaster gift card

You could also iframe the offer if you really wanted to get dirty, although the backend conversions will be lower for the advertiser if you do this.

Actually I am going for a generic keyword which has a lot of searches but it is not going to be really hard to rank for. I have installed a big mysql database with IP addresses in it and I am going to locate from where the user is from and write "hey there is a bar in "$city= $data2['city'];" <...>."

I am thinking of doing geo-targeting (.com/de for example) later if this model would work for me to avoid wasting traffic.

one more question: should I add a "you MAY get the address of that bar" instead of "you WILL get the adress..."? So you are saying that I should not be scared of my AM`s for busting me for this method? Can they see from what website my traffic is coming from? I said that I am doing PPC/media buys, etc.

You can use Brad's CPA redirector (which is here on the board) to fake your referrer. Make it appear like your traffic is coming from a nice clean full page ad - that way you can say whatever you want to get the surfer to sign up.

The problem with geotargeting is that it's difficult to find a proper match for most offers. For generic stuff like iPhones you can probably find an offer from most of the main countries. For more specific stuff (eg. $20 Pizza Hut voucher) you might find matching offers for US / CA but have to send your DE traffic to some generic ringtone, which isn't going to convert very well. But you can still make a few bucks.

Why build a good website, with a pretty good idea, and then go for a CPA style revenue get paid?

Use an Adsense style site and Adsense will serve ads specifically for what that person is looking for in your results, which will offer a better click though rate, and the user isn't FORCED to convert, also then have CPA link on the site that THEN convert to CPA offers, so like for "get discounts at ***" (in *** is city or location)

Finally offer advertising to local businesses in that field.

If it pops up immediately with a CPA offer before the user has a chance to use it MOST people would bounce and just use Google maps results as plenty of mickey mouse sites exist with the model you're chatting about.

just go to google and type in, "free " (ie. free followed by a space). That'll show you most common searches that start with free.

    right now its:
    free movies online
    free fonts
    free games
    free online games

    etc etc etc.
