Idea to Get Unlimited Original Content

So I have this idea on how you can get unlimited original content for your website,
tell me if this idea works or not,

Lets say you go to the library and you take out old books that are related to your niche,
then you check if those books have been digitalized on the web, if they have not been digitalized (check copyscape),
you can literally just copy page for page of content for your site,

would this idea work, if it works, you can definitely save time without having to write your own content or
pay someone to write content for you

It does work but is infringing on someone's copyright so make sure you cover your yourself with hosting and domain.

I believe if you state your source of the original content and say, "I used such and such excerpts."
You should be okay. Either that or just completely changed the way it sounds. Then you dont have to worry about the copyright as much. I love english and when I was in college, I never got nothing below an "A." Plus I got paid to write my own paper in different ways for others.

What if you take the content from the books, and then hand-spin it? Less copyright issues, I think.

Breaking this into 2 parts:
Back in 1999 I didn't know that much about the internet. After being exposed, I thought what if their was a world lottery. I told my uncle all about it. You know what we saw on the evening news THAT night? Yup. No this is actually a true story. My uncle told me not to feel bad. As a young poor man working in the budding electrionics industry in the 60's he was exposed to brand new technologies like LCD displays and thought that would make an awesome watch. Apparently someone else thought it was a good idea too.

Your case, much like mine...your idea has already been done. You're not just talking about getting a DMCA notice you're talking about a government takedown!!! They'll seize your domain and website. Google books was doing the same thing putting up photocopies of old books but they did excerpts for educational purposes I believe.

I would say if you mixed it with some good OCR and then changed it a bit you might be ok but you're talking about doing this fast and with a lot of books.

I STRONGLY URGE YOU TO RECONSIDER. People don't just get sued they go to prison for that.
