Idea I have, will it work and how?

There is a used car dealer in my local area that is all over the radio and instead of giving a web site address he says google him. My question is this: Would it me a good idea to try and create a website to "steal" this traffic? And if I can what ways could I make money with it? Anyone ever try something like this?

Stop asking questions and just do it. The people on the fourm dont understand this concept. I took 3-4 months to learn as much as I could back in 2011 and now I make 5k a month around 200$+ a day. Take action. A better result would be to try to contact him and offer to make him a website for a price and youll manage it for a small monthly fee of 4.99 a month. If you do steal the traffic it would be only local traffic so maybe you can create a classfied car buying and selling car site. Use your brain.
 
Remember that he can stop radio ads and you will stay only with investment and no traffic

What's wrong with this question? It's not a classic spoonfeed questions.

@OP: You could sell a redirection or whole site to him for a good amount.
 
He already has a website, just not using the domain name in the ads, just to google his name, not sure why.

You don't get me, create a new, your site and rank it first on google for his term. Then offer him to remove or redirect that new site for a sum.

oppurtunities like this make local seo like shooting fish in a barrel because your average person doesnt understand how searhc engines work so congrats first of all!: )

make a news blog about the types of cars he sells and use his dealership and his name reccuringly as "the sponsor". WHen the site gets a healthy stream of traffic get his attention and sell the site to him :)
 
Have you looked at adwords to see what it would cost to use his name for a campaign? You might buy traffic really cheap. I would try it myself. You could have a site up and have his traffic in less than a hour.
 
So many reasons as to why not do this but here is the main one that SHOULD have been obvious.

Stealing is pathetic, be creative, just because its black hat doesn't mean it has to be illegal or sad.

There is sooo much information on this forum on how to advance and make money, why stoop to that level.
