Idea for video downloading

Is this possible to do?
You come across a site with a link for a video and your windows media player or quicktime viewer pops up. Is there a-n-y way to grab that video and download it?

Can you throw up a URL for an example? There're a couple of ways, but it depends on how the vid is placed into the page.

I'll have to find something...but if I show one and it's different on some other site then it might not work?

Well, like I said it depends on how they insert the file.

The most low-budget way would probably be to open the source code for the page and find the direct-link filename and url of the video itself. If it's less obfuscated there're much easier ways, but it depends heavily on what exactly you're working with.
