ok, i came up with an idea and tried it out for a quick second to see the results, and it works pretty well (well, actually it didnt do jack yet, but still) normally on one of my pages, i see about 30 visitors a day,and adwords has about 12-20 impressions , if im lucky ill geta click or two on my adwords well, i went into a chatroom and made something up, just to see what would happen, i stated there is a contest for 100 dollars and to register you had to click on the adwords and it would obtain your ip (yes this was a lie, no this wont be my way of getting people, i just wanted to see if chatrooms would actually go to my page if i advertised it there) and sure enough with 3 posts of my "contest" i saw 30 people visit my site (no clickthroughs) my question: if i tweak my idea up (so im not lieing to people, at least not that bad lulz) and get people to click through and they DO start clicking on my adwords, will i get in trouble w/ google with it? i mean technically they wont be able to see a ring of users considering im doing it via chatrooms, but since i wont have many sales (most likely) google might notice somethings up, waht do you think?
i see it as you just advertising your website through word of mouth.. same as if you handed them a business card in real life. as long as you are not telling people specifically to click on your ads, i think it is not against tos
thats the thing, i -am- telling them to click my ads (with this current method) but there isnt any tracks of me doing so, so google wouldnt see that what im more worried about is the sudden surge of converts vs. no sale of the advertisers product, think they (google) would flip on me?
you could tell them not to click on your ads more than once that way your not telling them to click on the ad but if google don't agree with that then your stuffed make sure you test it out on some throw away adsense accounts or try another CPA type offer
If you tell people to click on your ADSENSE, they will report you to Google. If enough people report you, you will be banned.
yeah, adsense, my bad. i understnad the risk of being reported. the risk of google finding me themselves is slim to none since it would be in a non-logged non-searchable context, no trail to follow the risk im worried about, is if it were to generate a spike in my clickthroughs with adsense, and cause google to looka t me funny.
