I have been looking into eBay for a little while and it seems like a great place to make some extra income I'm kind of overwhelmed with the information online and I wanted to know if i'm in the right direction

so basically I need to :

1)Find a drop shipper

2)list an item on ebay

3)get orders and pass them to the drop shipper

I understand it is not as simple as 1..2...3 but I wanted to know if that is the general idea?

Thanks :)

Well stop liking and start it already lolz...:18:

Drop shipping really isn't that hard, but be careful who you buy from and don't go for the saturated markets like Replica Dr Dre Beats. GOOD LUCK!

thanks for the replies!

what kind of items you would like to sell?

I was thinking about starting with beauty products just to feel the water and then test other stuff....I'm a real noob at ebay I have never sold anything there allthough i bought some things there

Hey!

It's awesome that you're taking the initiative. However, if you are a 'noob' at ebay, I would not suggest dropshipping. Dropshipping can be a real hassle to deal with if your partner is bad. Also, the dropshipper also takes a hefty cut of the profit leaving you with very little to gain off of. I saw that you are going to sell beauty products. You can easily order some sample stock off of Alibaba to test the waters out, without having to rely on a drop shipper. Just my 2 cents. I like to do things myself without relying on other people. Plus, you won't have to run into other factors like miscommunication, etc. Plus, beauty products are relatively cheap to buy in bulk, and they make a decent profit, so overall I'd just recommend you to buy your own stock without having to rely on a dropshipper. Hope this helped! Feel free to message me for any eBay help!

Thanks for this useful post! I think i will buy my own inventory after doing some research I found out there are to many risks if you are relying on somebody else

You've got the right idea. But please research, research, and research some more before listing your items. Don't list items that will end up losing money after ebay/paypal fees. It happens alot. People don't realize just how much the fees are that they have to pay. They add up quick. Make sure the profit margin % is there and your drop shipper can get it shipped out quick. After you find the right products to sell, then list on ebay/amazon or where ever you want. Don't rush into it, and please do research. Be careful for VERO products as well. Good luck.

One thing you need to do if you're serious about this is buy 2 items from the supplier to check the quality.
Worse thing that could ever happen is sell items on eBay. Turn around and buy the goods. The supplier
scams you and your screwed big time.

So always check your sources first.

Cheers.
Mike

I agree with everyone here regarding "research", but don't let that be a road block. Take a risk once in a while, you won't know until you don't jump in and figure it out as you go.

Good luck.

I have been an eBay seller from quite a while. I have learnt some rigid rules the hard way, losing a lot of money in this business and gaining a lot.
First would like to let you know, there are a lot of people out there portraying as drop shippers who are actually scammers or are charging crazy amount of money for cheap fakes. Secondly, you should know eBay is not simple as 1..2..3, eBay has set of rules which you should learn. Making a single mistake on eBay can wipe you out of eBay.

I was on the losing end, until my brother travelled to China about 5-years ago to start his education career. While he was there, he started building contacts. Not just the ordinary contacts, but some golden business clients. I was literally buying a product for $20 and reselling it on eBay for $65. I have sold over 700 of these items on eBay. Making good profits and this is how I started.

Now we have a dedicated shipment contact in China, who handles our drop shipping I can literally source any product out of China where I can make money. Ah, I have tried all the regular common websites, but the problem is these websites are too common therefore, you'll face a lot of competition. That's why I have gone different route and things has worked for me.

Listing items and processing orders is not an issue really. If you do not have spare time, you could JV with someone who is active and energetic + someone with a lot of time in their hand can do this job.

Hi Ebayer, would you be willing to tell me the name of some quality cheap chinese suppliers of clothes? Mainly trench coats and hoodies but possibly also onesies.
I understand if you would rather not but I would really appreciate it.
