So, I have been picked some niche etc, but for my niches going to first page is not hard, but requires much effort and time.
so, lets say 10k people searched for x, and my website is at second pages first or second link of x. How much hit it will get ? of course, I know you guys cant give exact amount but Im just looking how many you can get in second page.
(im talking about google searchs second page in case its not too obvious)

I can't give exact amounts but you can still get traffic if you rank 1st or 2nd on the second page.

from a research page that I read, 95.3% of search result traffic comes from the first page.

That sounds about right. Depending on the source you look at the number of people that make it past the first page varies from 2% to 7%.

It does make a difference on the niche though. Some types like crafty type niches seem to have more people look farther down than others.

Aol made a study in 2004 and leaked the information in 2006.

The averages were:

Sponsored listings 25% has probably decreased due to the google map.

Organic position:

1 = 56.36%
2 = 13.45%
3 = 9.82%
4 = 4%
5 = 4.73%
6 = 3.27%
7 = 0.36%
8 = 2.91%
9 = 1.45%
10 = 2.55%

= 98.9%

1.1% click through to the second page

a lot has changed since 2004 but i'm guessing the CTR's have not changed that much.

I would post a reference but i'm to new.

Why not just do a search for "google organic click through rate"

"Statistically, the #1 result in Google for a particular keyword gets 42% of the total search traffic for that
keyword — the highest percentage you can achieve in the organic results. So even if your page is #1 in Google, you can augment
your search traffic percentage by purchasing a sponsored result, giving you an additional opportunity to reach the 58% of searchers
who don't click on your #1 result."

The second title includes a call to action aswell as the keyword and brand. Be sure that the second title would get more clicks if they were ranked in that order.

I guess it depends on what the user is searching and if the information on the first page is out of date. I know myself when researching sometimes I have to dig into the second page

I know I won't personally check the 2nd page unless I'm doing SEO work for a site...just my 2 cents

when you do a search yourself how many times did you actually make it to page 2! when a user is searching he will usually finds what he is searching or in the first page or he will refine his search

Agree with everyone. Approximately 1% of the traffic goes to the second page. If the content they need does not appear on the first page, they are likely to go to the second one. If your ranked 1st or 2nd on the rankings, you should get maybe 50-100 visitors? lol. Not 100% guaranteed accurate but that is how much I would think it would be if there are like you said, 10k ppl searching. ALSO, your content plays a huge part.
If someone searched "weight loss" and your title shown on google is not relevant to what the user is looking for, he/she will skip clicking your link.

Last I read about 6% ever click onto the second page. This includes searchers who click on a result, then back to serps, then to page 2. Your chances of getting a click on page 2 are less than 1 percent.

If you can't get page one, then perhaps consider something else. Thi is unless the keyword gets heaps and heaps of searches...

but the thing you need to realize is that you don't need to be number 1 in a very competitive keyword to sell affiliate products.

All you need to do is be number 1 for a long tail keyword that has a high conversion rate.

My "work in progress" new travel related site is in the 3rd page of keyword that has 3600 local searches per month AND to my surprise, it already gets some visitors from google by that google keyword,
like 5-10 per day.
:D

Although I would not start conversion process till it gets on the first page

For informative terms or hard decisions it can go to 10%, but if the search have maps on first page, local results and tons of ads, second page could be like third.

In my experience top of page 2 is slightly better than bottom of page 1.

Although basically if you're not above the fold on page 1 you may as well be on page 64

NOt many at all dude...ideally you want the top 3 positions
