Man, I was posting daily for some time, getting decent views, then BAM my next 10 videos barely hit 100 views. At first I thought my content sucked, but turns out TikTok had me shadowbanned. After digging around, I realized I’d been using the same 3 hashtags on every post (#fyp #viral #trending). Big mistake. TikTok’s algorithm flags that as spammy behavior.
What worked?
-Reset my hashtags: Started using 2-3 niche-specific tags + 1 broad one (e.g., #ProMarketingTips + #TechTok)
-Took a 48-hour break from posting (cleared the "spam" flag)
-Engaged naturally—no more mass-liking or generic comments
My reach bounced back in 2 weeks. Lesson learned: TikTok hates repetition. Switch it up.

TikTok host load traffics to certain engagements on good content videos upload, according to experience adding more hashtags help to generate traffics on your post than limiting/repeating same hash which may reduce engagement.
Totally agree. Hashtag variety is key. But here’s the weird part I’ve tested: TikTok’s algo seems to treat 4-5 hashtags as the sweet spot. Any more than 8, and my reach actually dips.
