Well, so long to my company of 8 years. I was a car salesman and with the downturn in auto sales, ended up the victim of downsizing. I was pretty frustrated at first, but I think this could be the opportunity I needed. Now I can collect unemployment to stay home and work on everything I have intended to do, but never seemed to have time for. I want to thank everyone that is a member here for the help they have given me. I had my best month in July with an income of about $1,200 (after expenses). Now I need to at least triple that to cover bills, but I think with all the information here that should be possible. Wish me luck everyone.
Great opportunity for you. Structure your days just as if you were going to work and be persistent. Good luck!
Opportunity is knocking: answer the door! Sorry about you losing your job, but it'll give you a chance to put the cool strategies you find here into action.
Wow, I never thought about getting fired and collecting unemployment as a "bridge" technique to going full time. I'll have to work on that. And rewatch Fight Club. I'd rather have a niiiiiiiiiice "severance" package when I go. So, congratulations!
I think that if I put the 55 - 60 hours a week that I spent at the previous job, I should do fine. It's been kind of relaxing today.
The new journey of a better life just began Thanks for your post ... i hope it is a lot of motivation to the newcomers
Don't forget you have to pay taxes on that unemployment. Not a bad time of year to be fired if it has to happen. If you lack self control, get it now, otherwise it easily turns into a 6 month paid vacation.
i wish you a lot of success i also believe this can be a blessing in disguise just spend a lot of time learning here. then apply your learnings . and with hard work you will do fine in no time.... best of luck
thank you for motivating me...first found this site just last week in an attempt to help my friend who also lost his job. I told him there were numerous ways to make money online, even though didn't know exactly how (did surveys, etc. last summer). After being here just a few short days, I feel the gates of money heaven have opened up to me. I'm amazed how much people here want to help others succeed at their methods, etc. and share. I'm now making it a goal to leave MY job at the end of the year of before putting all the things I'm learning here HOURLY into action to make this possible...
I agree. The people here are great. Almost everyone is willing to give out suggestions to help other people improve their incomes. That type of support is hard to find.
Here's a little quote that has helped me in the past: "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain't how hard you hit; it's about how hard you can get hit, and keep moving forward. How much you can take, and keep moving forward. That's how winning is done." Rocky Balboa
I never got fired... I wish I would from the job I have now. I hate it but it's a little bit hard sine it's my own company and since it's making pretty good money. Still. Good luck and I hope you more then tripple your income. I just wish I could make enough on IM to make a full time living from it. Then I would defineatly drop my company. ... I'm working on that...
I love quotes This is ones used to help me.. Co Bao: Why did they pick you? Because you like to fight? Rambo: I'm expendable. Co Bao: What mean expendable? Rambo: It's like someone invites you to a party and you don't show up. It doesn't really matter. *not*
I feel for you man, but you seem to be determined to turn all this into something positive. That's what you need to do. I was also let go in June last year after 7 1/2 years in a pharmaceutical where I was the programmer-webmaster-dba-graphic designer-network admin assistant... I had been working for the past years designing some stuff to sell online. Now I have an e-book on sale, a software that's coming up, I just started a renovation Cie and have a baby coming next week. Best advice, believe you can achieve success online. Now is the perfect opportunity to do it. And even if you need a part-time job after, it ain't that stressful. Good luck, you're at the right place to start making it happen.
The bills to be paid are going to be your biggest motivation. Unlike before you don't have the freedom of not doing any work. Seriously, most of the webmasters made big bucks when they went full time. Good luck mate. With proper focus and discipline you can definitely make it.
