That's due to the fact that you did not optimize the server and your app properly. I also use digital ocean droplets to host fairly complicated websites. Never had a problem, never ever.
I want speed but confused, VPS, Cloud, Wordpress?

If your just after speed, go for Rocket.net (not cheap) but you get access to Cloudflare Enterprise CDN (Not to be compared with free Cloudflare) worth from $6K a month if you signup for it yourself, and that is included in Rocket´s hosting, combined with a good stack for WordPress.
Combine this with a well built WordPress site, and you got speed.

Yes, it's best for WP sites. OpenLiteSpeed is the fastest web server for WP. There is a lot of comparision on google just check the difference. The difference is huge.

It's a web server so you can't have this in Shared hosting. You need a VPS. Digital Ocean does have one-click install.
there is one company Hostinger who provides shared hosting on the OLS web server.

There is a lot of companies that offer Litespeed servers with their shared hosting, both Cpanel and DirectAdmin.
