Hi guys since the google update my site has been penalized big time, the issue is because I was doing the churn n burn method and now i'm suffering for it. I am now building manual tier 1 HQ links to my site. I use to have 3k backlinks and now I have dropped down to 380 and STILL dropping, which I guess is a good thing because google is still getting rid of the rubish links? This is my real life business and my competitors have only around 30 Back links to their site so I guess I can out rank them if I put in the effort, I have currently built 7 HQ tier 1 links. I have been searching around the forum to find some answers been cant seem to find them so ill ask here.

My competitor has 27 backlinks and has social media links on his site, for example he has twitter feeds. (he is #1st on page 1)

I have 381 backlinks ( I am #6 on page 1 and STILL dropping)

I am also wondering how I have made 7 HQ backlinks but only 1 has been verified by ahrefs? does it take time to get verified by google and what speeds up the process? Does wiki links in my blog comments speed up the processes? I also build Tier 2 links to my tier 1 via GSA SER and then index them afterwards. Can someone please point me down the right path on where to go and how to get to the top of google?

For some strange reason my traffic has Increased even though my rank has dropped big time? I really need some guidance and this is my real business and my livelihood.

Ahrefs is a good tool to check competitors backlinks, however for links that you build yourself, check if they are indexed by google. They are both different tools. Moreover, have you disavowed low quality links that you believe caused your rankings to drop?

your traffic has probably increased due to natural long tail rankings.

what is your exact match anchor ratio? try not going too high, that could possibly cause you to drop in rank.

how can I check and how could I stop it from going to high?

For how long the google penalize a website? Is there anything exact that google says?

If you churned it then it may be burned, no backsies.

I've heard of people shutting down the site and parking it. Then opening up a second domain/hosting account under new name, and "selling" it (transferring) it to that new account months later and then re-opening the site, use disavow tool, and give new content. No idea if it would work but that is all that comes to mind if it IS a penalty from churning.

Could you assist me with this?

I've never done it. All I know is somebody here posted about it a while back.

When you say churn and burn how bad was it? Did you use content that was completely garbage or just a little bit? If you used total garbage you may see a dropoff over the next few months until your manually built links start shinning through the crap.

It wasn't complete crap, but my tier 1 links are slowing coming into action improving my rankings, how els can I help my tier 1 links? wiki links etc?

How are you "penalized" if you are still on page 1??

Penalty in the classic sense means being slapped/pushed/thrown/flung/kicked/shot/punched off page 1!

Secondly, it does not matter if your comp has 30 links, 1 link and whether you have 300,000 links, it's not about just that anymore.

Thirdly, your comp may have simply blocked ahrefs/majestic bots from maybe his PBN, so how do you even know he doesn't have 3M links?!

Quality Content, and when I say quality content I mean content YOU would read yourself! If you have enough of that on the net you will rank no doubt about it.

OP, you have your answer. I was going to write the same thing anyway.

So you did churn and burn and after that decided to start anew on the same domain?
