I tested many Wordpress Backup Plugin, here what I pick. Might be suprise you

Hi, I've tested many backup plugin for wordpress that is compatible, stable and fast
and I also paid this plugin to see what best they can do
Here is the plugin I already test, and I tell you what I feel and what I don't

I Tested backup 1gb - 10gb, I use this plugin for a while, I had many website and tested in between them
I try to use many features as possible, I use many plugin as well

fastest backup speed

1. Wpvivid (fastest)
2. updraftplus (fast)

best featured & most easiest (cloud, migration..)

best performance, stability and compatibly with other plugin

bloated backup plugin (I hate)

1. WPMU snapshot pro
2. backupbuddy
3. Super backup

as you can see, Wpvivid I pick the most, I use updraftplus
longer than any other backup plugin and I feel like Wpvivid
is the easiest to use, it allow me to see each size of file/folder,
easy to migrate and connected to the cloud..

the folder they generate in the cloud also more organize compare to
other plugin and most of all, this plugin is Fast! and you can custom the
performance to reduce CPU resource in your server


the only thing I do not like about Wpvivid is just interface

If you install WordPress via Softaculous you can backup for free. You can set it to make daily, weekly or monthly backups and store then on Amazon S3 very cheap, you can store them on any ftp, Dropbox etc.

I never use a plugin for this and I have zero loss of data.

On top of that almost all good wenhosts offer backups you can ask them to restore free.

The other way, if you want to take full control is to write a simple script to backup files and databases and upload anywhere and you run the script with cronjob.

The less plugings the better.

not all shared server have Softaculous for migrating and if you use
VPS or dedicated server you need pay separate license for Softaculous
but that doesnt mean your client is using Softaculous as well

using backup plugin directly in wordpress is better for
developer as you can work faster for any kind of emergency

and Softaculous is bloated with stuff more than any plugin I mention above
