it will take as long as youtube thinks your content deseves monitizing .

if ather 1k subs and yt thinks content good , your get aproved .

Yes it greatly depend on the content
I applied 14 weeks ago and heard nothing yet

If you apply 14 week ago and heard nothing, then you probably use copyrighted content or content that is not suitable for monetization
What's your niche ? what content do you produce ?

As for me , my content is gaming some videos with commentary and some are not and those with commentary i do commentary in the first minute of the video "explaining to the viewers what they expect to see in the video"
Now it is nearly 3 weeks and i did not hear anything regarding approval , What do you think guys ?

What game do you have recorded ? some game are not acceptable for monetization
Do you use any copyrighted music in the game ?
If you do everything right, you will definitly get monetized within 1 or 2 week
Also keep in mind that you have to comment the WHOLE video

In my channel, I am doing travel videos which is filmed entirely by me. Mine has been under review for 3 months. I guess the problem should be music which I use. They are not copyright music but still I assume that should be the problem. Do you think if I make those specific videos with music private they will approve my channel? Some videos are filmed with original ambient sounds. I can keep them.

Are you sure the music aren't copyrighted ? where did you find the music ? youtube library ?

But the problem is you are waithing for 3 month , which is really long, a lot of here are monetized within 2-3 weeks
I think you have done something wrong

Thing is I get music from various YouTube channels. I never had a copy right strike or community guidelines strike though. I get music from YouTube channels such as "vlog no copyright nusic" , "YouTube no copyright music" (not official YouTube music library) and some from a channel called ambient music. I always put credits to original music composers and put their source too. Like their YouTube channel and soundcloud website. I think this is what I am doing wrong. Was thinking about buying themusicbed subscription for my videos as I want high quality music for my videos.
