Now I have a 21.5" desktop screen and I feel less productive. With my laptop screen everything felt a lot more cozy and it seemed like I was able to focus better, with my desktop screen I feel like everything is out in the open. Anyone else had a similar experience? I feel like I should have stuck to a laptop, it felt more productive whereas with a desktop I started playing games. On my laptop I'd only play counter strike every now and then.

Nope. Have a 24” screen and now I want even bigger. So much easier to work.

You feel less productive due to increased download speeds. Try to go back to 2G speeds and check how it improves.
Faster internet = More dedicated time to video/youtube/Online gaming

I used to play flash games that took 5 minutes to start in browser.

I had my set up connected to a 40" flat screen, I developed severe neck and shoulder pain because of slouching and looking down into my laptop screen. Doc advised me to stop working on the lappie, which of course was out of question. The next suggestion was to get the screen up to my eye level or maybe a little above it and a TV screen was the solution. End result - I now have a fabulous TV workmate and I've started watching more youtube videos and movies in 4K.....SMH....

I used to get distracted a lot when I used my main desktop computer. Ever since I got a new one my rule was to NEVER EVER go to any website other than the ones I need to have the job done. This was several years ago and I've been extremely more productive ever since. When I'm sitting in front of my desktop my body knows is time for focusing and not for being entertained. It's hard at first but once you get used to it becomes second nature.

I use a mobile device/ other laptop for entertainment purposes.

That's how it usually works. It's obvious you won't play as many video games on a worse platform.Throughout my teen years I'm somewhat glad that I had low-tier laptops, couldn't handle any of the newer games and had to stick to doing something else. Like learn about IM, business, etc. But that's just my experience.

I had the same problem lol. Then I sold my desktop and my screen and now I'm back on Macbook. Already improved my productivness

you feel less productive because of other reasons not cuz of laptop.

you started playing games cuz youre weak willed or craving dopamine

I am always using my laptop, however I am in the market for a monitor!

Lmfaao . Me I'm done with windows

Idk I prefer my 40" display as I get to have more info. Sure, I use my laptop from time to time, but I prefer my pc :D

Everything I need to do, I can do with this 13" Early 2014 Macbook Air screen.

However, when the time comes to edit photos, I've got dual 23" displays I connect to. Also, I've found that having one of the displays in portrait mode is perfect for emails, browser testing, and content writing where you can see far more of the content.

As of right now, I work way too hard :(

Hoping for the days that all I will need is a laptop. That is when I will be truly successful.

But for now this is how I get things done..

Command Center 3.0

Revision 4.0 is underway

Everything desperately needs to be upgraded, from the desk that has been battered to death, to the outdated 1080p monitors.

I think maybe with 2 32" 4k monitors will give me the same working space as this. 1080p is so outdated.

The server rack needs to be cleaned up, (hasn't been done in 6 months) maybe ill get a nicer one too that is enclosed.

I run have my own servers on site, so all I use is a thin client to connect to my VDI

Excellent solution if you can afford it.
