    Hi everyone

There's a really tough niche I want to rank my site for, but I want to at least figure out the best direction to go in.

Let me tell you about my site.

    - not an emd
    - 2 years old
    - nice design and easy checkout

Now what if I wanted to rank with keywords like "iPhone cases" on page one.

I think I will need at least 50 articles, at least 500 words, SEO optimized, and a great deal of back links.

Also I am thinking of posting a video once or twice a week with the keywords optimized on YouTube, daily motion, and Vimeo.

On top of that, I will be manually scraping leads.

I also am thinking of using you like hits to gain likes on a Facebook fanpage.

So anyone have any ideas or suggestions? Any software or white techniques, gigs you suggest??? I'm guessing if I work hard at this, it should take about 3 months tops.

But I want to hire someone as well, I'm wondering how many backlinks should they build in 1 hour, and what type of work should they be doing per hour and day if I hire them as a seo person?

    Thanks for all the help.

Youlikehits are no longer providing facebook related services, fyi.
Your strategy looks quite promising especially with the addition of videos. As for link velocity, BHW got plenty of threads regarding that, search it.

Thanks. I'm trying to figure out if I hire someone, how much work should they be doing per hour?

Your strategy is okay, but I wouldn't worry about link velocity in the beginning. I would worry more abut the fact that you are going for "iphone cases" in which there is a lot of spam. In addition, if you do hire an seo specialist, don't worry about the hourly rate, that would be a mistake if hiring an seo specialist. If you worry about what work they are doing an hour, they are not going to produce for you. If they do end up producing for you, your backlinks might end up being spam and in addition could end up hurting your site rather than helping your site.

What I would focus on more would be you video content strategy, which normally works better than websites. Your social signals might also help, in which, having a steady stream of likes as opposed to buying in bulk will make you look more natural than just someone who buys likes. Make use of reddit, even though it is a double edged sword. I don't have a strategy to give you for reddit in regards to selling but you can garner major traffic from that site.

Lastly, best info I can give you, make sure your onsite is good, and do not hyperdrive your link building strategies because they can end up hurting your site more than helping it. hope that helps.

I have a "full-time" guy that adds about 30-40 links a day manually, which is 4-8 an hour... so obviously I am not harping on him about the hourly productivity because that's the wrong way to look at it. Considering that most of these links are PR4+, I think it's a great deal.

So you gotta look at it the right way.. not micro managing, but results oriented.

as you're willing to spend money, i would suggest starting with adwords PPC-- so you get an idea of how much revenue you generate per visitor on those keywords even if you don't achieve positive ROI. then, out of your the good-revenue keywords in adwords, figure out which ones have the least competition and start there.

For building backlinks directly to your site I would suggest you to use...

    Web 2.0 properties
    Social bookmarking sites
    Document sharing sites
    Social media
    Article directories

Build the links above manually and then send some link juice to them by using automatic backlinking service (wiki links, automatic social bookmarks, blog comments, profiles etc.) You can outsource this task.

Furthermore, make sure that your links are indexed fast (I'd recommend Lindexed to that effect).

    Good luck!

a keyword like that is gona be painful, if not a long project before fruition. I would start with longer , less tight keywords, while still including the one you are aiming for, like jeweled Iphone Cases or quality iphone cases. at least then you will see results quicker and not get totally demoralized while building up for the main event.
