I really hate being asked this by sellers.

Yes, I know, this can come off as "rompepalle" especially if asked more than once, but you have to understand the other side a bit, different volumes can incurr different cost models, but yeah they should have free tiers and sme sort tiered pricing.

Usually, if they ask budget and call you, or nudge you by a call, run away as fast as you can, it is very liekly a scam.
Overall, I agree with you these are not good salesman, if someone cannot deliver a good sales pitch, like listening to the potential customer, they do not deserve you business.

A sales or leads pitch goes like, establish the need, timeline, pain points and as very last the budget. IF they are too dumb to read a business book or a 30 minute video online, f them is what I do.
I was going to say the same thing. Been in business for over 30 years. If you ask for a quote, and they ask you what your budget is, run fast. Very fast.

The budget gives an idea to the seller of what a seller should offer!

Bro calm down, first off I am 99.9% percent sure you do not have the stuff you are offering lol, google ads accounts, cloud credits and especially not a cloaking infrastructure that actually works, else you would not...be here.

"beg for your product" , please come down from that high horse.
Some people who post on bhw are established and successful in their various fields of work. I don't know the personal business of the one you are talking to, just saying that "else you wold not be here" is not always true.

So you're saying that next time I should just LIE and tell the seller that I've already been quoted a price that's 75% less.

Otherwise, I'm sticking to my approach of 'Here's what I want and how much is it going to cost?' If the seller can't give me their best price upfront then I'll just move on to the next person.
I’m not suggesting anyone should lie or manipulate sellers. My point is simply that if I can offer a price that is 75% lower, the buyer is comfortable with it, and I still remain profitable, I choose to do so. I don’t see an issue with offering competitive pricing to gain a client.

I see this as a win-win: the client gets value, and I build a long-term relationship with potential repeat business. Instead of maximizing profit margin on a single order, I prioritize trust and continuity. This approach has worked well for me.

The budget gives an idea to the seller of what a seller should offer!
It's a very thin line and one that should be avoided. Because there are many sellers who will go up on the price if the customer has a high budget. Sure there are ethical sellers out there, but there are many who are not. The conversation should go like this "How much do you charge?" "Exactly what services do you want" "I want xx and x" "For that I charge xxx"

The conversation with far too many sellers goes like this.

ME: Hello, I'm interested in xxxxxx . What am I looking at for a price?

Seller : Quotes a price.

Me: Ok, thank you for your time. I'll contact you if I decide to use your service.

Seller : What's your budget?

Me : I'm just looking for prices at this time.

Seller : So tell me your budget

Me: Just give me your best price and I'll think it over.

Seller : But if you tell me your budget...

Honestly, why is it so difficult for some people to just give me their best price?
They are looking at offers while already working with your competition.
This is pretty standard in business, they are just looking for other branches to maybe save in costs. Million reasons.

Leads die all the time dont stress over it.
