They pretty much hand anyone and everyone a license in California and especially in Arizona. Driving isn't as hectic as it is in some other countries, but most people over here don't follow that "slower traffic keeps to the right" rule. Instead, we have morons clogging up both lanes and others trying to pass everyone else on the right. They even do this ridiculous thing where they belligerently floor the pedal of their little 2017 4 cylinder plastic sedans to pass cars on the right while screaming and not using their turn signals. I can't imagine what would happen if there were an Autobahn out here.

Don't even get me started on city driving.

I see this every day, more cars, more stupid drivers :).
Op, congrats and remember, first 2 years be very carefull about how you drive and after that be very carefull about how all the others drive :), for your own safety.

Sounds like Thailand, after experiencing some of the driving there.
I'm a police trained pursuit driver but boy they had me worried on a drive to BKK airport, we were doing over 100mph, the guy had no hands on the wheel as he was messing with his satnav on his phone, thus steering with his knees !

I'm probably going to get a cheap 2-4k car. I still like style though. Any recommendations?
 
If you are talking about used cars then you might go for
  • Kia Optima
  • Ford Taurus
  • Nissan Sentra
  • Honda Civic
  • or an old ass BMW :P
